Chapter 11

I couldn’t believe it. I looked at Louis and he just smirked at me.

“I thought it was time you two had catch-up session.” He just smirked cheekily at me while getting out of the car. I watched him walk up to Mum and she embraced him in a massive hug and kissed his cheek. I started hyperventilating. Olivia grabbed my hand. I forgot she was in the car. She looked at Josh with a ‘give-me-a-minute’ look and he got out and joined Louis.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t expect you to react like this but you need to get it over and done with now so you move on quicker” she reassured me. I swallowed and nodded at her. We got out of the car and I walked up to the door with Olivia while keeping my head down. We joined the group and Olivia gave mum a hug and a kiss on the cheek too.

“And who is this? I don’t think I have met you before. Hi sweetie, I am Johannah” She asked obviously referring to me.

I looked up and saw realisation wash over her face as her expression change.

“Mum this is Caitlin. I do believe you have met her” Louis explained

“C-C-Caitlin.....Oh my god. You have grown up so much” She hugged me and tears started flowing down her face. She was squishing my bruises and cuts and I winced in pain.

“Oh sorry sweetie, come in guys, no need to be out in the cold” She said inviting us in.

we walked in and there was a man sitting on the couch. He saw us and got up to greet us. He shook hands with Louis and Josh and then gave Olivia a hug. He walked over to me and gave me a hug.

“Hello, I am Dan. Jay’s fiancé and who are you my dear?” He asked me

“I’m Caitlin” I replied

“Hmm...Caitlin that name sounds familiar” He stated while looking at Jay (which I guess is mum’s nickname) hoping she could fill in the gap.

“Well....” Mum started.

“What?....” Dan asked warily

“Remember how I left Jake ten years ago?” She asked.

“Yeah.....” He carried on.

“Well when I left, I left Caitlin there with him. Caitlin is Olivia’s twin, Louis’ sister and my daughter.” Mum finished.

“Ok, why didn’t you just tell me about her?” He asked sounding upset.

“To be honest, I didn’t think I would see her again. I mean when I left we were in America, speaking of which when did you come back to England Caitlin?” She asked turning to me.

“Umm we moved back to England when I was 13” I answered her.

“Ok then. Now let’s all sit down and have some dinner” She requested.

We went and sat down at a big square table in a dark red room. Jay and Dan sat next to each other, Olivia and Josh and I sat next to Louis. We had our dinner. Jay cooked roast chicken, roast carrot potato and pumpkin and various vegetables. I was asked various questions such as how’s school, how’s life, how were your birthdays? And all of those little ones. We were just sitting at the table chatting, we had finished dinner.

“So Caitlin how is Jake?” Mum asked me. I was hoping to avoid this question because I couldn’t tell mum the whole truth and I don’t know how well I can lie.

“Umm....he changed when you left but he isn’t as happy but he isn’t dead or anything so yeah....” I said finally choosing my words.

“Ok then” Mum said. I got up and grabbed some dishes and placed them in the kitchen. I was putting food scraps into the bin when Mum walked in carrying the rest of the dishes. She placed them on the cupboard and then she just stood there and stared me with a smile on her face while thinking to herself. She giggled lightly.
