Ashton's P.O.V
The sound of my phone ringing woke me up at the early hours of the day. Groggily I reached my hand out feeling for my phone on the pillow next to me. As I grabbed for it I pressed except while my eyes glued shut from the blinding light.
"Hello?" I asked. My voice full of exhaustion and clearly raspy.
"Hey Ash...umm I'm sorry to wake you up, but Ara is in the hospital and I need you to come and watch over her. I have to go catch my flight for my meeting." Sleepiness oozed from her voice and I knew she needed help, and I needed to be their for Sahara.
"Yeah sure no problem. I'll get my things and I'll be there real soon." I hung up and couldn't help but worry about Sahara. She was a tough girl, and not once have I seen her cry. What could possibly be wrong. She had strong will power and she would rather be by her self. But knowing Skyler she probably reccomened that she have someone there for her.
I packed up some essential things and head downstairs to the kitchen, grabbed my keys and was off. I called her half way into town to ask for the hospital. I got my directions and headed off once again after I got some Taco Bell for Guiny cause I know she LOVES Taco Bell.
Sky texted me the room info and I was soon opening the door to her room and saw her fast asleep. I never in my life saw someone with so many cords attached to them. She was in some serious pain if she had all of those medicines going through her body.
"Thank you so much for coming to watch over her. When shes up she might need to use the bathroom, but whatever you do, dont and I mean dont let her close the door. It must be open. Dont let her out of your sight." Skyler said with the most serious face I've seen her have since Dylan.
"O-okay umm what, what happened?" She looked to the ground with a sneer in her eye.
"Its really not my place to tell." Sky looked back up again and nodded her head, pursing her lips. "Well I'm off. Watch her. Dont let her go put of the room either. If you have any questions just text me." And she left. Not another word. She would usually leave with a smart ass remark but she didn't.
Luke's P.O.V *WHAT u weren't expecting that?*
"No, he can't be dead. HE CANT LEAVE ME, YOU HEAR! He is important to me, to Skylar and Sahara, TO EVERYBODY AND HE DOESN'T REALIZE IT! Please..."
"Sir, there is nothing we can do..."
"Just keep him on life-support... he'll wake up eventually....I-"
I have been listening to their conversation for awhile now, not being able to move or open my eyes due to them being too heavy. My head was constantly pounding and my chest felt empty. Wasn't my heart supposed to be beating if I was breathing? How am I able to think and hear right now? Sobbing cut off my questioning thoughts, causing me to wiggle inside my body, trying once again in hopes of moving. The thought of him crying was enough to feel like it could physically harm me and yet I don't know why. This isn't how soulmates work, right? "What's that?" The heart monitor started beeping crazily as I finally moved my pinkie. "Luke.." White invaded my vision of the black finally went away. I was staring at the ceiling of a hospital room.
Staring in shock, I shakingly rested my hand on my neck, it felt like the rope was still there for a brief moment before it touched my real skin. "I told you, he would wake up..." A tanned boy with his newly cut short hair, approached my bedside tentatively. My voice seemed to vanish as when I opened my mouth, only a small speak was let out. Instead I mouthed the words, "Can't talk." The boy's eyes were such an alluring color like I was drowning in dark chocolate yet they were oddly familiar. Do I know him? Do I know me? Yeah, I'm Luke-, what's my last name again? "Sir, can you write down what you remember about yourself?" A white board and a dry-erase marker were handed to me before the, what I'm asumming is, doctor grabs a clipboard to write down notes.
Quickly, I write "Luke" before heistanting and writing another phrase under it, "That's it." I didn't pay attention to the gasps, just putting my hands on where my chest should be beating inside my body. Picking up the marker once again, I erase the other message but scribbling another.
"Why isn't my heart beating?"
