It's Thursday. I am totally cheating on my schedule, but I think I am just going to upload today and tomorrow and pick back up on Monday. I am just so eager to get this story out to you guys. So enjoy the last flashback/dream from Aleks. (:

Aleks POV: (cont.)
Over the next few years, Eddie and I became great friends. I never thought I’d have such a friend like him. We did everything together. We grew to like the other, and though we had our rough patches, I was happy. High school was no place to not have any friends in, as I quickly learned. To not have someone to have your back was a big mistake. I knew I could trust Eddie, though. Besides, he had saved my life.
Eventually, however, his original friends grew to despise me. People had always bullied me, but no one bullied me as hard as Eddie’s friends did. I supposed that they were jealous of our newfound friendship, but they went especially out of their way to make my life a living hell.
I tried to tell Eddie about them, but he was so set that his friends would never do something like that. I thought he’d have my back, but I was apparently wrong.
One particular day towards the end of our junior year, his friends seemed to lay off. Eddie and I were sitting and talking on the bleachers, watching the cheerleaders practice on the football field.
“God, that brunette is so smoking,” Eddie said, watching the head cheerleader do toe-touches.
“Why don’t you ask her out?” I asked.
“Are you kidding me? Ask a head cheerleader out? ME? You really have a lot to learn about this school,” Eddie joked.
Eddie had always joked around with me about my need to learn about high school. I blamed my lack of street knowledge on my frequent moves from state to state.
“Well, why not? Why can’t you?” I asked, trying to act like I knew a thing or two.
“Aleks, pal,” he said, placing his hand on my shoulder, “I am a dork—a freak of society. Gabriella is a popular girl with a jock boyfriend—“
“My God! The stereotypes! Why don’t you be different? It can be different here! We can show this school.”
Eddie just shook his head, “Nah, amigo. It doesn’t work like that. Just drop it.”
Just then, his friends, Derrick and Justin, came climbing the bleachers.
“Hey faggots,” Derrick greeted.
“Hey man. Why aren’t you two home? You normally leave straight after school,” Eddie commented.
I tried my best to stay out of the conversation. I knew they’d mess with me if I said anything.
“Had detention. Someone tattle-tailed on us,” Justin responded, sending a quick glare my way.
I looked away quickly. I had told a teacher. I was surprised that she actually did something about what I said.
“Too bad. Well, I’ll call you guys tonight, okay? I gotta take Aleks home.”
“Right. Wouldn’t want the little bitch to walk home.”
“Haha,” Eddie laughed.
He still didn’t think anything of what they said. How could he not see it? It was so blatantly obvious!
