Chapter 10
Someone shook me awake. It was light outside so I could see who was in front of me. "Ky!" I jumped into his arms. "What are you doing here?"
'Hey Serie did you miss me?" he said, grinning. "I am here to get you out of here. Have you been crying?" I nodded. "What for?" I didn't say anything. "Was it about me?" he teased. When I didn't say anything, he looked surprised. "It was? Oh Serie, what happened?"
"Father says I could never see you again. And it-"
"Upset you." he said. I nodded. "You love me don't you?" I nodded again. He grinned. "It's about time." he leaned in and kissed me. He deepened the kiss. I had never been so happy. We were both so into the kiss, we didn't hear the door open.
"What is this?" it was father. We broke apart instantly.
"Father it's not what you think. Please let me explain." I begged. He shook his head.
"I've seen enough. What is HE doing here?" he asked.
"For the wedding of course. I was invited if I do recall." Ky said. I nudged him, warning him to not push it too far.
"Serena, do you know who this young man is?" I shook my head. "Serena may I present to you the Prince of England, Ky Ward." Prince? I looked at Ky. He bowed in response.
"What's wrong with that?" I asked.
"England has been at fault with us for a very long time." Father said.
"So that is why you sent me instead of you. You were too afraid to go so you sent me instead." father didn't say anything. I decided to speak what was on my mine before something happened. "Father, you may not like what I am about to say but I want you to know that every bit of it is true. I love him father. I want to be with him. I have never loved someone as much as I love Ky. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but I really do love him father. And my feelings for him will never change."
Father was silent for what felt like an eternity. Ky's hand found mine and he squeezed my hand. Father sighed and said. "I'm sorry Serena but you cannot be with him. He has to leave."
"Sir please. I love your daughter. Please don't do this to us."
"I'm sorry but I have no choice." father said.
"Wait!" I heard someone call. Father turned around and their in the doorway was Ky's father.
"About time." I heard Ky whisper so only I could here it.
"Sire if I may, can we discuss peace between our two country's?" Ky's father asked. Father looked at him and thought deeply for a second before answering.
"Yes. We can. We can meet in my office. Follow me." Father left without another word. Ky's father turned to us and winked and then followed my dad. Me and Ky both relaxed when they left. He hugged me.
"Everything is going to be okay now." he said. "So where were we?" he asked. I smiled. "I think you were in the process of kissing me."
He grinned. "Right you are, my Princess." He kissed me. I was even happier than I was before. FInally. For right now, everything is alright.
