12. Christmas With The Team

*Time Skip To December, Christmas Eve*

"Uncle Joe! You better quit eating the cookies for Santa!" I heard Jaydyn and Braylyn yell at Joe. Joe just rolled his eyes and ate another cookie while everyone else sat in the living room watching 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas'

It's Christmas Eve. Everyone is at Maddy and I's house to watch various Christmas movies and to stuff our faces until we can't eat anymore. Presents filled the house, seeing as everyone was staying overnight so we could open presents tomorrow.

I was trying to clean the kitchen, seeing as a mess was made when the cookies were baked. Flour covered the room, along with sugar and egg. Seeing as Hunter and Matt made the mess, they should clean it up. But of course they won't.

The kitchen was almost clean when arms snaked around my waist, causing me to jump. I took the earbuds out of my ear, which were playing Brad Paisley's 'Winter Wonderland', then turned around to see Maddy. He was laughing at how I had jumped. "Did I scare you?" He said between laughs. I just rolled my eyes, put my earbuds back in and continued to clean.

He pulled my earbuds back out and pulled me into his chest. "I think you've cleaned enough, come watch movies with us." "I don't have a choice, do I?" "Nope." He picks my up and carries me into the living room, where he sets me in the floor, on one of the many air mattresses, him laying down next to me. 'A Christmas Story' was now playing on the TV.

I curled up next to him and laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and soon snoring filled the room. Looking around, I see everyone was asleep. I turned the TV off then went and laid back down, quickly falling asleep.

"Are you ever gonna wake up?" Someone says as I roll over, away from the noise. "5 more minutes." I say as I put a pillow over my head. "Nope. You are getting up now." They pick me up, forcing me to open my eyes. Buster had me and was carrying me into the kitchen. "Got her." He sits me down in a chair and I slowly begin to wake up. A cup of coffee is set in front of me and I begin to wake up faster.

After eating breakfast, we file into the living room to open the mountain of presents. Joe and Hunter decided to hand them out, so the rest of us scattered around the room. Maddy pulled me into his lap and rested his head on my shoulder.

"To: Brandon From: Hunter"
"To: George From: Abigail"
"To: Matt From: Gregor"
"To: Brittany From: Madison"

Hunter hands me the gift and I slowly begin to unwrap it. It was a tiny box, and I had a feeling I knew what it was. When I had finished unwrapping it, I saw a ring box. That had comfirmed my suspicion, it was the ring I had taken off when we broke up. "So you do recognize it?" Maddy whispered and I nodded my head. I slipped it on my finger and Maddy pulled me even closer to him.

Once all the presents had been opened and everyone, but Joe and Buster, had left, Maddy and I began to clean the house. "I'll try not to mess up this time and lose you again." He said as he was packing the air mattresses away. "Maddy, it wasn't just your fault. I messed up also." I sigh and pull him into a hug, and we stay that way for awhile.

Once we had everything put up and away, we laid down on the couch with Country Christmas music playing through the speakers. He was running his fingers through my hair, trying to get me to relax. "Now that the holiday party is over, you can finally relax. Stop being so stressed."

Whispers filled the hallway, but I just ignored it. When I glanced up, I saw Joe and Buster standing there with Mistletoe hanging from a stick. "Oh look, where did this Mistletoe come from?" Joe asked, trying to sound confused. Maddy just rolled his eyes and kissed me, causing Joe and Buster to leave the room.
