Madison's POV
She ran off to Los Angeles with Kershaw, I knew that would happen. I just wish I wouldn't have snapped and yelled at her when I saw her. That really messed up my chances of ever having a chance to get her back. But she would never want to get back together with me, not after how I treated her.
Nobody on the team would talk to me, the same with the girls. Even though she said it wasn't my fault she was leaving, I knew it was. Everyone knew it was. I let baseball take over my life and I forgot about everything else that mattered to me. She tried to bring me back to reality, but it never worked.
Someone knocked on the door to my hotel room, but I didn't budge. They knocked even louder and I finally stood up. "What is it?" I snapped as I opened the door. Matt was standing there, a sad look on his face. "Sorry, I'll come back later." "No, Im sorry for snapping at you Matt. I've just been thinking about Brittany." I sigh as I say her name. "Bochy wanted me to tell you we were leaving to go to the ballfield soon." Grabbing my bag, I walk down to the lobby with Matt.
The guys were surprised I walk downstairs with Matt. I had been secluding myself from anyone and everyone. It probably wasn't the smartest idea, but I didn't want to snap or have a breakdown in front of anyone. We boarded the bus and shockingly, Hunter sat next to me. "I talked to Britt yesterday."
My head snaps up at the sound of her name. "You did?" He nods his head. "Yeah. Actually, all of us did. She came and visited in the clubhouse while you were gone." I run my hand down my face at the thought that I could have seen her and apologized. "What did she say?" "That she missed all of us, including you Madison."
"I screwed up, I really did." The words slipped from my mouth and Hunter patted my shoulder. "Text her, see if maybe she answers. If not, you can text her off my phone." "Thanks Hunter." He walks back to where Justin is sitting and sits down, leaving me to think.
To: Bri
I know Im the last person you want to talk to, but just read this message. Yeah, I screwed up and Im sorry for that. Baseball took over me and you tried to stop it but it didn't work. Hunter told me you visited yesterday. I wish I could have seen you so I could apologize, but I guess this text will have to do. If you never speak to me again, just know Im sorry, I miss you and that I will always love you Bri.
Hitting send on the text, I lay my head back. The notification telling me she read the message came up, and I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. At least she knew I was sorry for what happened between us. The bus stopped and I grabbed my bag before stepping off.
"Hey Clayton, can I talk to you?" I asked as I saw him standing on the field. He nodded his head and we walked towards the mound. "Do you know where Brittany is? I wanna apologize to her." He shook his head. "That's actually what I was talking to Joc about. Nobody knows where she is. Her keys to my house were sitting on my bed and all her things were gone." My heart sinks as I think about her being missing.
"Nobody knows where she is?" "Nobody. Ive texted her and Ive called her, but she won't answer the phone." "Let me know if she responds." He nods his head. "Will do." I walk down into the visitors dugout and sit down. "Where is she?" I mumble to myself. "She didn't." I grab my phone and almost send her a text, but I decide against it.
With this being the final game before the All-Star Break, I decided to investigate during the break. I had an idea of where she went, but I wasn't 100% certain on it. "Hey Bumgarner, got a second?" I snap out of my thought and see Adrian Gonzalez standing there. "Yeah, what's up?"
"I was the last person Brittany talked to before she left, and she was in tears then." "Why was she in tears?" I was confused at that. "You can't flip out when I tell you this, alright?" I nod my head. "Alright." "Clayton cheated on her." "And so she left to escape the news." "Exactly. You never heard this news from me." He walks out of the dugout and towards Yasiel Puig.
I didn't pay attention during the game and thankfully it wasn't my turn in the rotation to pitch. As soon as all the postgame activities were over, I headed over to the airport and booked a plane ticket. "I hope Im right and you are here Bri." I whisper as the plane takes off.

Hmmm, Is he right or not? You'll have to wait and find out!
I thought that writing a chapter in Madison's POV was well needed.
