Chapter 5

---3rd person---

That night, the three were excited and happy to tell their sensei of how they past the third exam.

Mariko was very pleased and bought them all dinner, since she was in a surprisingly good mood. They questioned her on it but all they got in reply was

âI just meet a certain ninja today. He was... interesting.â

They asked for more details, well Kiyomi and Akari did but they got nothing more from her.

However, Akari was quiet. She seemed almost distant. As if her mind was on something else.

She couldnât help but have a bad feeling about tomorrowâs exam. She didnât know what it was but it just didnât feel right. Something was going to happen. And that something wasnât good.

I couldn't help but grin as I stared out at the second exam.

The Forest of Death. 

"Now I'm excited." I said with a smirk. 

"Hell yeah!" grinned Rei.

I turned back to face my team only to find Rei grinning but Akari was quiet.

"Don't tell me you chickening out now, Akari?" I asked smirking.

She stayed silent before catching my eyes, causing her to blink a few times as she spoke.

"Sorry what? I kinda spaced out.. haha." she said with a nervous laugh. 

I narrowed my eyes. What's up with her?

"Now," said Anko interrupting my thoughts. "Before we begin this test, I have something to hand out to you all. It's just a standard consent form." she said as she took out a pile of papers. "Before the test all of you are going to have to read over this form and sign it."

"What for?" I heard Naruto ask.

"Some of you may not come back from this text." she said simply. "And I have to get your consent to that risk. Otherwise it would be my responsibility! Hahahahah."

I smirked but I sensed that there was something wrong with Akari. She seems almost scared.

"Now then." started Anko again. "I'll explain what you'll be doing on this test. Here pass these out." she said handed the papers to Naruto before starting again. "The first thing you need to know is that this will test every one of your survival skills. First, I'll give you all a description of the terrain of the practice field..."

I couldn't help but ignore Anko as I stared at Akari. 

What the hell is up with her? She's been acting weird ever since the end of yesterday exam. I mean something can't have happened between her and Rei can it? No otherwise he'd be acting weird too. Don't tell someone...

My gaze wondered over to Gaara.

Gaara... you didn't do anything to Akari.. did you?

I grinned as I slide the Heaven scroll into my kimono pocket. 

We got 5 days to make it to the tower, take out a team and grab an earth scroll on the way. I think this'll be a piece of cake! 

"Listen up! All the teams have received their scrolls so everyone go to your gate and wait there!"

I smirked and lead my team to gate 13.
