Shai POV

December twenty-second

I wake slowly, feeling arms around my torso and hot breaths on my neck. I smile softly to myself, "Theodore, we have to wake up soon, we have to go shopping," I say and hold his hands against my stomach, my quite large stomach.

He groans softly, "But the baby's not due till next week, we have so much time to shop later," he grumbles in my ear, squeezing me lightly.

I roll my eyes and push his arms away, sitting up and looking down at him, "Listen here, buddy. I feel as if I could pop any second now, so you know what, we're going shopping today, whether you like it or not," I say, slowly getting up and standing, my feet are super swollen and ache as I stand, holding onto the wall for support as I make my way over to the dresser, I pull out some maternity leggings, a long sleeved maternity shirt, and one of Theo's large sweaters, which are actually starting to get small on me.

Once I'm fully dressed, I go to reach in my bottom drawer for some fuzzy socks, considering its freezing here in Oxford, but I hear my back crack loudly and the next thing I know I'm on the floor, looking up at the ceiling, a moan of pain coming from my mouth, "Theodore," I whimper, looking towards the bed, which has already creaked, signalling that Theo is already up.

He bends down beside me, "Baby," he whispers and helps me to sit up in his lap, I lean backwards slightly, groaning in pain. "Will you massage my back, all I can feel is pain," I whimper, squeezing his hand tightly. He nods against my neck and stands up, carrying me to the bed, where he sits me on the edge.

He cracks my back first, which feels extremely nice, then begins to massage my shoulders, "You have magic hands, babe," I mumble and lean into his touch.

"Do you want me to put your socks on, love?" He asks, stopping the massage. I nod and he grabs a pair of red and green striped socks and slides them onto my small, swollen feet.

"We can go shopping tomorrow, I don't think I'll be moving much more today," I mumble softly, leaning back into the pillows, closing my eyes.

I fell the bed dip beside me and I feel my neck being peppered with kisses, and I giggle loudly, "Theo, stop! You're going to make me pee!" I exclaim, pushing him away. "And peeing could mean water breaking, and water breaking means labour, and I'm not going into labour until Christmas," I say and cross my arms, which makes him laugh. "That's three days, Shai, and I doubt that your parents, nor mine, will be extremely thrilled to be called at one in the morning to discover that their grandchild was born before they got there," he says and kisses my nose.

"My mom already knows, and so does yours, they're all coming for Christmas anyways, so they're all ready for the baby to be here on Christmas anyways," I say with a smirk. He just sighs and rolls his eyes, "Whatever, Shailene," he says.

December twenty-fifth

It was Christmas Day, and there was still no sign of the baby, no sigh that showed it would be soon either. I groaned as Theo came into the bedroom, "You okay?" He asked, sitting beside me.

I shake my head, "Baby needs to get out, right now," I grumble, poking my stomach, "you hear me? Get out of my vagina!" I scream, falling backwards onto the pillows, tears rolling down my cheeks.

"Hey, it's not the little dudes fault," Theo says and pulls me into a tight hug, "Or little dudette—or whatever, he or she is just hanging out in there, babe."

I groan, "Well, he or she has overstayed their welcome," I grumble.

December twenty-eighth

"Dear God, Theo, why'd you do this to me!" I exclaim as I lay on the couch in the living room, looking over at our small Christmas tree that is still up, the ornaments are all ones that Theo had gotten me on dates that were near Christmas, or the one he had gotten me when he proposed that has a voice recording of him legitimately saying, "Will you marry me?" I reach for it, from my spot on the couch, holding it in my hands, playing it, "will you marry me?" I sigh and look up at him, he's looking down at me, "That's the best ornament that's on that damn tree," he says with a smirk.

I smile softly and stand up, taking his hand to help me, "I'm starving, Theodore," I mumble, walking towards the kitchen, one hand on my back and the other on my stomach, "Ugh, can you make me some spaghetti? Ooh! And some macaroons?" I ask, smiling at him.

He smiles, "Of course, Shai, I love you," he says with a grin as he gets straight to work.

I love this man.

December thirty-first

"Three! Two! One! Happy New Year!" Our friends around us scream, Theo pecks my cheek softly, "You okay?" He asks. I shake my head and touch my stomach, I didn't bother to tell him that I'd gone into labour hours ago, I didn't want to bug him with the baby, especially while he was having a good time.

"I'm in labour, I've been in labour for hours," I mumble, my eyes closed as I gasp in pain, as sharp kick to my uterus.

"Shailene, oh Lord," he says as he quickly shouts, "Party's over!" He begins to usher people out, Theo's mother, Jane, quickly coming to my side, she helps me over to the couch, helping me to sit down.

"Dear, how far apart are your contractions?" She asks, sitting beside me. I groan loudly, "About three minutes or so," I mumble, my eyes closed. "Oh, Shailene, would you like for me to call your parents?" She asks, and I nod vigorously, clutching her hand as another contraction hits my stronghold, "Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, get your ass out here!" Jane shouts, before she begins cussing in Greek.

I groan loudly and attempt to stand up, "Hospital, baby, Theodore," I mumble and collapse into strong arms, Theo helps me to walk to the car, "It's okay, it's okay," he whispers, holding me tightly and laying me in the back seat, his mother sitting with me, and his father in the front seat. "Hurry," I grumble, feeling pressure between my legs, "oh no," I groan, "baby's coming right now," I mumble and all of a sudden, the car stops, Theo gets out and comes around to the side that his mother is on, where he ushers her out of the car, "Take off your pants," he commands and I shake my head, whimpering. "I can't, I can't do it," I say, crying loudly.

"Mum, time?" Theo asks, looking at his mum. "12:21," she says and looks at Theo, "You know how to deliver a baby, Theo, just deliver your baby," she says, pushing Theo towards me. He nods and takes my pants off, lifting my legs into the air, "Woah, that's definitely a baby," he mumbles and looks at me, "you have to push, Shai, give me a big push, yeah?" He says, holding out his hand for me to squeeze.

I squeeze his hand hard, pushing as hard as I can, I scream out in pain, and it proves to be louder than all of the cars honking their horns at us. "I see the head! Keep it up, Shai, keep going!" He says, encouraging me. I groan loudly and push harder than the first time, the pain is legitimately splitting my vagina, I scream and squeeze his hand. "One more big push!"

I do exactly as he says, I push until I feel relief, and I hear the small cries, "It's a boy, a boy, Shai!" Theo exclaims, a smile on his face.

"Theo, I'm still connected to him, yeah, please stop pulling okay? It's actually killing me," he nods and hopes into the car, not caring that our baby was literally just born on the seats, "What time is it, mum?" He asks. She smiles, "12:30 on the dot, that might've been the quickest birth I've ever witnessed," she says with a soft smile.

I smile slightly and look up at Theo, who is staring intently at our son. "What are we going to name him?" I ask, touching his leg with my foot.

He smiles, "I was thinking, Camden. Camden James Woodley Taptiklis."
