Michael hated P. E. He was weaker than all the other boys, and everyone knew it. He was shorter than all the other boys, and showed a tiny, squishy stomach where they had abs. He had bones for arms where they had muscle, and he hated it. He hated himself.
"Move, fatass!" Anthony screamed, Michaels main tormentor. Michael struggled to move up the rope, inching up every few seconds. He wasn't even halfway to the top.
"Come on, mate. Are you like this all the time, or did you eat bitch flakes for breakfast this morning?" Michael heard an unfamiliar voice, and looked down from the rope.
The voice belonged to Ashton Irwin. Ashton was new, he'd only came last Monday. Michael hadn't even looked at the boy, Ashton was usually very quiet and sat at the back of class. This was the first time Michael actually heard the curly haired boys voice.
"And who are you, curly fry? Michael's little boyfriend?" Anthony asked, and Michael looked down again. He started making his way down the rope, too distracted to continue.
"Good one, Anthony. I'm so offended that you would think I was dating him." Ashton rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.
Anthony walked closer to Ashton, and mumbled something in his ear. Michael was almost to the ground, trying to keep his balance on the rope.
Whatever Anthony said, it pushed Ashton over the edge. Ashton punched Anthony square in the nose, and the boy fell to the ground. Ashton spit in disgust as everyone surrounded Anthony as if Ashton were the bad guy. Michael finally made it down the rope and was about to run over to Ashton when their couch started to yell.
"Ashton Irwin, principals office right now! Jacob, take Anthony to the nurse!" The lady screamed before storming over to Ashton, yanking his arm and pulling him out of the gym. He glanced at me as they reached the door, and I watched him leave.
