Chap 2
The day passed by with my aunts and I picking up my gown for the ritual tomorrow and my dad making some last minute arrangements to get out of his business for tomorrow. My dad was a cup and cauldron manufacturer. It was a modest job and they made the most beautiful cups ever. My dad had this job with my mom cause my mom loved to design cups. She had made one for me before I was born and I loved it up till this day. It was my very own unique cup. The cauldron business was his family business ever since...dinosaur age. It catered to about 2/3 of the magical population. My dad was proud of his job and my aunts always helped him whenever they could. He was always immersed in work and he barely had time for me but I knew he loved me. And that's all that matters.
I changed into my jammies and got to bed. I fingered my necklace and looked at the simple gold ring that hung from it. My mom came into my mind and I smiled.
I wished I could go back to the past.
Oh well. I took a deep breath and went to sleep.
"Do you think she knows where she is?"
"Not sure. And what the devil is she wearing?"
"Are those clothes?"
"Think she's wearing a chemise and just pants?"
I groaned. What time was it? And what's with all those whispers?
"Oh, look! She's waking up!"
"Maybe she's one of Carrie's friends."
"Who's Carrie?"
"You know, the girl that Mark brought home...OW! What was that for?"
"Shut it."
I groaned again and reached for my pillow, hoping to block out the voices.
The ritual! Oh shit! I sat up, and almost collapsed back down with dizziness. With a moan, I rubbed my head gently. Oh god. Aunt Esther and Aunt Evelyn was going to kill me. I opened my eyes, rubbing them as I stretched.
And wished I never did.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Screaming. Check. Clammy hands and palms. Check. Major hyperventilation. CHECK.
"WHO ARE YOU? WHAT DO YOU WANT? I SWEAR I'LL BLAST YOU ALL OFF TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH YOU BLOODY..." Someone covered my mouth hastily with his hand.
"Jezebel! She's got some mighty fine lungs on her."
"You're right there." the one covering me muttered back. "Now, miss, if you would just keep your silence, I'll let you go." I nodded and he let me go, his hands letting my mouth go. As soon as he did that, I took a deep breath in.
What was going on here?
I looked at my surroundings. I was in a...barn. I don't know where that is. Hay was all around me and I bet some was sticking out in my hair. There was an animal smell, the kind that lingered in the zoo. I scrunched my nose.
Then my eyes landed on the three boys in front of me. Four including the one behind me.
"Who the HELL are you guys?!" I shrieked out, grabbing at the hay and throwing it at them. And chaos reigned.
"Did she just swear?" the red head asked in awe.
"She's feisty. I like that." the blonde winked at me.
"Oh shut it, Mark." a sandy hair colored boy stated with an eye roll.
"You shut it. I mean I"m not the one.."Mark argued back.
