          Vanessa’s P.O.V

          Gale and I stated walking down the street laughing and talking with each other. Turns out gale and I are going to the same school. I had to beg my dad to let me go to public school, I didn’t want to be different then I already am.

 I didn’t realize how far we walked but all of a sudden their were little tents set up revealing people selling almost everything known to man. I looked around until I sensed something watching me. I looked at gale but he was focused on ANOTHER useless thing that nobody on earth needed. I started to look around again but then I saw who was looking at me. It was an elderly women was staring at me intently sitting in a fortune booth. I glanced at gale again to make sure he wasn’t watching me, then walked over to her.

          “The little mermaid has finally come over to me, about time” the woman said. I gaped at her with my mouth open.

          “Don’t look at me like that, we both know what you are” she said smiling.

“How could she smile when she just said that?” I thought. “What do you want?” I asked menacingly. trying to act scary.

“I am just trying to help you know more about yourself” the woman looked at gale. “I see you charmed a human”

“How can I ‘charm a human’” I asked.

“Mermaids can charm humans, mermaids can make humans do anything they want” Did that mean gale didn’t actually like me? Wait why should I even trust this lady I just met?

“Why should I even trust you?” I asked.

“Because I am a mermaid too” and for the second time that evening I stoo

d their in shock. Gale walked over and pulled me out of my shock. Their were others like their like me? Was their any other special things I could do? I had so many questions but I couldn’t ask a single one because gale was their.

As if she sensed this the woman slipped me her card when gale wasn’t looking. I took it gratefully. Gale turned around and looked at his watch.

“Well we better start going, its pretty late” gale said. I smiled and got up.

“Well it was nice to meet you” I said to the woman and then I started to walk away with gale until the woman said something that stopped me in my tracks.

“Don’t trust anyone” I turned to look in her eyes but she wasn’t their. I turned around in confusion and started walking away with gale. We talked some more even though I was only half listening. Nobody knew about my secret, but if anyone did who would betray me?

Authors note: I know its short but i havent been on my laptop in a while it was at my house when i visited my grandma and going to my friends house for her b day (cheergirl 808), you know who you are!
