Mermaid Bay

Chapter 6

  Vanessa's P.O.V

        I locked myself in my room and cried. Why did my life have to be like this? First I have to move away from my home, then turn into a mermaid, then i couldnt kiss the guy I really liked all because of some 'charm' over him. I didnt want to make him kiss me, i wanted him to kiss me because he wants to.  I really had to stop getting myself into these situations. I walked into the bathroom that connected to my room and looked into the miorr. I looked a mess. My eyes were red and blotchy, my mascara was running, and tears were running down my cheeks. I turned on the sink to wash my face, right before I touched the water I remembered something.

   "Great I cant even wash my face because i am a freakin mermaid!' I was seriously pissed. I clenched my fists to calm myself. I started to feel something like butterfly's in my stomach. All of a sudden the water started to evaporate from the faucet. I stared in amazment and started to unclench my fists. The water started to return to normal. My mouth was open with shock and wonder.

   "What the fuck?'

     I tried it again, it didnt work at first and i got angry again. Right when the mermaid thing starts to get cool an awesome power just disapears. 'wait" I thought. I clenched my fist again feeling angry, and it worked! I smiled. I kept on expirementing for about an hour or so. I looked at the clock. It was already 10:35? I must of been practicing my power alot longer than i thought. I looked out my balcony into the pool in my backyard. Nobody was there and my family was probobley asleep. I tip toed out of my house into the backyard. Once I got outside I looked at the pool. I was going to transform again, it was the second time. This time I wont be as shocked.

     I ran to the pool and jumped in. The cool water felt refreshing. A few seconds later i could feel the almost expected tingle in my legs. Then it was their, my tail. It feels weird saying 'my tail' the tail on the other hand feels compleatly natural. I swam around a bit but then pulled myself out. I rolled over so I was laying on my back. I looked down at my wet tail. I have to wait for it to dry untill I get my legs back. "I should have brought a towel" I thought, sometimes I am so stupid. Then I remembered my power "'acually I am a genius!' I rethought. I made myself feel angry again and made a fist over my tail. it immediatley started steaming and then turned back into my regular legs.

   I got up and went back inside, tip toed into my room, then collapsed onto my bed. Right on the verge of falling asleep i thought of gale. I hope the charm or whatever wasnt too bad so he is not sad about me running away.
