Chapter one

Danielle put down the bowl and wiped her forehead. She looked around.

The kitchen was a total mess. There is spilled milk on the floor, flour on the counter top, butter in a plate that is starting to melt.

Well, this happens when you never set foot in the kitchen for three years. Danielle thought.

Four years has passed since Danielle and Greyson’s marriage. Ronan is four years and a half now. He was turning five this year.

Danielle stopped her singing career when Ronan turned two so that she could give extra care for him. She didn’t want Ronan to grow up thinking that his parent doesn’t cares about him.

Greyson has stopped singing too, now that he has his own label, which he manages many new artistes. Currently he is caring for Clark Lowe, a 19 years old singer whose name is starting to explode all around the world. But Greyson still sings, just that he doesn’t produce any more music. He writes them for his singers.

Greyson has gone to Germany with Clark last week for his tour and he is coming home tonight. That was the reason Danielle was cooking. Or what seems to be cooking.

She was trying out a blueberry cream muffin recipe that she printed out from the internet. The muffin was okay, only that she forgot to put the timer right, and now her muffin is as hard as stone.

She also made chocolate chip cookies, which turned out right. She stacked them in a corner and leaved it to cool down.

Usually Charlotte would come to their house to help her but Charlotte has already moved to Australia with Cody last fall bringing their two years old daughter Chrissy with them. They lived together but Cody has never asked Charlotte’s hand in marriage. They seem to be husband and wife without any marriage bond.

Danielle sighed. She missed Charlotte. It wasn’t easy to contact her now.

Suddenly, Danielle heard the sounds of something being dragged on the floor.

Danielle looked around.

It was Ronan. He was paddling his new tricycle into the kitchen. Danielle smiled.

Ronan has grown into a cute toddler, with dirt on his face and peanut butter stains on his clothes. His hair turned from blond to messy brownish blond.

“Mummy why are you cooking? Where is Nanny?” Ronan asked, looking up at his mother.

Danielle picked Ronan up and sat him on the counter top.

“Well, daddy is coming home today, so I want to bake him something special.” Danielle answered with a smile.

“Do you miss daddy?”

Ronan didn’t answer.

Danielle looked into Ronan’s deep blue eyes. “What’s wrong?” Danielle asked worriedly. “Aren’t you feeling well?”

Ronan nodded.

“Well, why didn’t you answer me?” Danielle asked.

Ronan remained silent.

“Mummy can I go now?” Ronan said suddenly after remaining silent for so long. “I want to play with Mr. Flynn.” Mr. Flynn was a dog doll that Danielle bought for him on his second birthday.

Danielle pursed her lips.

“okay.” She said, finally and put Ronan back on the floor.

Quickly, Ronan rode his tricycle and left the kitchen.

Danielle looked at him and sighed.

Oh Greyson look what’s happening to your son. Danielle thought worriedly.
