Chapter Fifteen
“Danielle.” Greyson pleaded.
“No, just leave, please.”
“Danielle, please, don’t be like this.” Greyson said, trying to stop Danielle from throwing out his bags on the front porch.
Danielle picked up the big traveling bag from the bed and carried it outside. She threw it on the front lawn. She was totally steaming off.
“Danielle please…” Greyson said, looking at his bags being throwed out one by one.
The whole week, Danielle didn't talk at all to Greyson. Greyson has been trying to make up with Danielle for being so offhand about Ronan's health problems. But Danielle's patience seems to have passed the limit line.
Greyson was boarding his flight to Europe today at ten, and Danielle was never happy about Greyson leaving more than today.
As Danielle was about to shut the door in Greyson's face, Ronan started to cry. Danielle quickly ran upstairs to his room and picked him up. His body was very hot, she could feel the heat even underneath all his clothing.
Danielle went back downstairs, bringing Ronan down with her. Greyson was still on the front porch, looking very glum. Danielle appeared at the front door, with Ronan in her hands.
“Danielle, I'm very sorry, please don’t do like this to me?” Greyson pleaded.
“You wanted to go didn't you? Now you can leave.”
“Not this way, Danielle, please.”
“Just, go Greyson. Just, leave.” Danielle started to close the doors.
Greyson stuck his foot in the door opening, trying to stop Danielle from closing the doors.
“Danielle, I will leave, but not in this condition. At least give me kiss Ronan first. He is my son too.”
“Oh, so now you’re saying he is your son? I thought you didn’t even care if he’s dead or alive? What kind of father are you?” Danielle said angrily.
“Danielle, I'm just going for two months. And it’s for WORK!” Greyson said, flipping out himself. “I really love Ronan and I want to stay with him but I just can’t! Why can’t you understand that?”
“I do Greyson, I do understand, but do you?” Danielle said. “I'm disappointed in you. Just leave, okay?”
Ronan started to cry again. Tears fall down his eyes like rain. Danielle's blouse was starting to get wet with his tears. He squirmed and kicked his little legs, trying to stop the pain.
Danielle hugged him closely.
“There, there, don’t cry.” Danielle hushed him, stroking his back. “Greyson, just leave please?”
“Let me hold him, one last time?” Greyson pleaded.
Danielle shook her head and closed the doors. She walked inside, sitting down on the stairs, she started to cry. Silent tears fell down her eyes.
Ronan started to squirm again. Danielle quickly wiped her tears and hugged Ronan. Ronan's body was very hot, even too hot for a fever. When his skin touched hers she felt like pulling away, like touching a jug of boiling water. Danielle frowned. She should have taken Ronan to the hospital, not the clinic.
Quickly, Danielle went upstairs and grabbed her jacket and car keys. She dabbed on some make up to cover her sodden eyes. She told Nanny Beth where she was going and went outside.
Sure, Greyson wasn’t there anymore. His flight was departing soon, and he had to be there early.
Danielle climbed into her cars, the one with tinted black windows. She didn't want people to see Ronan sick. They might start some bad gossips about him, and that’s the last thing that Danielle wanted.
