A Forbidden Territory, A Forbidden Life

Chapter 23

RECAP

Skye/Skylar is a panther who had to resort to taking refuge on a forbidden territory ruleby three enemy packs. She's found out she isn't the only tresspasser and that there might be a lot more as well. She's also been reunited with her brother and has had gone ac in time, two weeks to be exact, thanks to a run away witch. She has met her boyfriend once, Xavier and his famly;Now she has a barbeue gathering to attend to and a lot of mysteries to solve as well.

'All in all the atmosphere stayed the same for a while till my eyes landed on a clock and I had to literally push Xavier out the door so he could show me the way home. Since of course he could not go into the Rye sect. once more.'

Chapter 23

Xavier's PONIT OF VIEW

"Alright! I'll show you the directions to the Rye territory and not have you followed or stalk you myself and let you go to brother if you just stop glaring at me like that! And pleeeeaaaaase get that fully laoded foot o your off of my feet. Man that hurts!" I yelled fully playing with Skylar now and truly upset that I have let her go.

"Good" she said with narrowed eyes and continued, "I'm warning you Xavier don't even think of trying anything!"

"I know, already!" I admited defeat, "Now would you please remove that foot of your's?"

""Your wish is my command" she chipped in happily and hopped off my feet with a grace unmatch-able to any other.

"If that's how it is han my true whish is-" I started in mischeviously

"Don't!" she warned with  a glare that had be stepping back a few paces.

"Now that's a first, my unyeilding son is actually afraid of someone." said Carol reminding me of the fact that for the first time in ever I'd had my gaurd down.

"Mum" whinned Xavier shocking me to death with this new side of him.

"Oh stop acting like such a baby." Carol snapped at her glaring son and continued coming towards me, "And you young lady need to be very careful, you'r physically and mentally in a fragile condition right now." she finished off with motherely concern on her features.

"Thanks Carol, I'll keep that in mind" I said instantly warming up to her even more than I had the past couple of hours.

"That's actually another thing I'm worried about you see, I gave you a routinique check up while you were sleeping and I fear that you might have memory loss." she said while patting me on the back like a mother would.

"You mean I might forget everything that happened here?" I asked trying to get more information on what she meant exactly.

"No I doubt it, but pehaps. Or you could lose a memory of your past like an old memory or something along thos lines" she said chacking over what I presume is the report she got from my checkup clipped on a clipbaord.

"Oh" I said lost of words.

"Here it is" said Xavier coming back into the hall from one of the rooms in this hallway. Which shocked me even more because I didn't even sense him leave much less return to my side. Meaning my memory isn't the only thing that I'm losing control of.

"Um, will my 'condition' as you call it, effect my senses in ayway?" I asked the question forming in my mind.

"Yes, it most likely wll. In fact that was what I meant by metally and physically" she said holding out her hand for something Xavier was now carefully holding on to, "this s a personal herbal medicine I created, It's should get your senses back into control and return any memory you've lost in the past or are bound to lose due to this incident."

"But be warned mom uses the art of black magic on this stuff" Xavier warned as Carol carefully placed the little pouch into my palm and closed it into a fist.

"Black magic?" I asked confused

"Uh, yeah" she said sheepishly, "it's not realy black magic per say, it's jut some very old techniques that the black magic users were accustomed to." she explained

"I'm rather confused" I said safely putting the pouch away.

"Mom found some old how to use dark magic to your advantage book when I was trying to figure out how to lift the curse" Xavier put in.

"Oh, I get it now"  I said and then exchanged phone numers with Carol. (more like noted them down since of course I didn't have my phone with me.

[One hour and two buses later]

As soon the bus was far away and the streets were finally empy I crossed over to the Rye territory as the last rays of sunlight disappeared over the horizon.

Then I decided to walk a mile or two on foot before stoping at a phone booth and using the change Xavier gave me andcalling my brother to pick me up.  Because I didn't want to risk turning into my panther for obviouse and personal reasons.

[15 minutes later]

"Skylar what happened?" Vince rushed over frantically hovering and fretting over me, "Who did this to you?!" he demanded at last.

"No one it was just an accident" I grunted reall worn out by now, "I'm sorry todo this to you bro, but I'm tired, weak and in no mood to explain anything. Also I need to rest for a while before that biggwthering you were telling me about so can we just go home?"

"Fine, but I'm not letting this go." he sid adamantly, "is that understood?" he asked with a threatening tone.

"Yes, dad" I saluted in a soldier like way before letting Vince literally pick me up and put me in the back seat of the car.

While Vince started the car I took one tablet from the pouch Carol had given me and took it before falling into adeep slumber; and yet another nightmare, the same one from when I was three and the little boy I can never hate....

Srry for the lllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg wait and I know this chapter is rather boring. But it'l get interesting because the next CHAPTER  will be about the Rye BBQ; with Damien, his sister, the evil step mother and a few interstingly new characters
