2014.
Eugenia Howard Gomez woke up to find her wife Selena missing from their bed. The realization of being married to someone she loved so deeply filled her with awe.
She made her way to the kitchen and found Selena standing by the counter, engrossed in her phone. Eugenia approached her from behind, wrapping her arms around Selena and planting a loving kiss on her cheek.
"Good morning, baby," She greeted.
"Morning," Selena replied, embracing Eugenia by the waist.
"I love you," Eugenia said.
"I love you too," Selena replied, stealing a quick kiss.
Eugenia gently held Selena's cheek, causing her to lean into the touch. A soft grin spread across Eugenia's face as she gazed into Selena's warm brown eyes.
"We should get going now," Eugenia suggested.
"I'll grab my purse," Selena responded, turning on her heels and heading towards the bedroom.
Eugenia's eyes fell upon her ring, tapping against the counter, and she couldn't help but smile at the memory of their wedding eight months ago. With a bright smile adorning her features, she lifted her head and ran her hand through her hair.
"Are you ready to go?" She called out.
"I'm ready, baby," She said, walking out and locking the front door.
She held her hand as they went outside. She noticed paparazzi taking pictures while Selena posed for photos with fans.
She seemed a bit uneasy with all the commotion. Selena pulled her into a picture, and the person snapped the photo, forming a heart shape.
"You two are absolutely adorable," A little girl exclaimed, her eyes welling up with tears.
"Oh, sweetheart, please don't cry," Selena said, gently rubbing the girl's back in an attempt to soothe her.
"I'm just so happy," The girl managed to say amidst her tears.
"And I'm so glad that you're happy," She replied, pulling away slightly to wipe away the girl's tears.
"I love you so much," The girl declared.
"I love you too," Selena responded with a warm smile.
They embraced tightly, cherishing the moment before the girl waved goodbye. She walked away.
Eugenia held Selena's hand as they strolled down the street, taking in the sights around them. She couldn't help but steal a kiss on Selena's cheek, her eyes glancing down at her wedding ring.
"I still can't believe we're married," She whispered, her voice filled with awe.
"You better believe it," Selena replied, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
"I love you so much," Eugenia said, a smile spreading across her face.
"I love you too," Selena replied, squeezing her hand affectionately.
"Can we start looking for a new place?" Eugenia asked eagerly.
"Of course, baby," Selena answered, her voice filled with excitement.
As Selena headed off to her rehearsals for the upcoming tour, Eugenia busied herself with merchandise and outfit preparations. With the last-minute touch-ups complete, she caught Selena's eye and smirked playfully.
"I'm really glad we're here," She said, her voice filled with contentment.
"I know, and we should probably get going now. I don't want to be late for another meeting," Selena replied, making her way towards their apartment.
Eugenia settled down on the couch, pulling out her phone to browse through social media. As she scrolled, she couldn't help but feel grateful for the life they had built together.
As she made her way into the living room, she took a moment to adjust her outfit. With a smile that lit up her face, raised her head and stood tall.
"You look absolutely stunning, my love," She whispered, wrapping her arms around her waist.
"Thank you, it means the world to me," Selena replied, her voice filled with gratitude.
"You're welcome, my gorgeous," Eugenia said, planting a gentle kiss on her cheek.
"Aww, Eugenia," She murmured, feeling a rush of affection.
"I'll see you later then. I love you so much," She declared, her voice filled with adoration.
"I love you too," She said, walking out of the house with a sense of anticipation.
"I'll be there," She typed in a text message to him.
"See you soon, beautiful," Her lover replied, leaving her heart aflutter.
She went to the car and drove to his apartment, gripping the wheel tightly. She knew she shouldn't be doing this, but couldn't resist.
As she thought about her actions, she realized she didn't feel as guilty as she should. Turning off the engine, she got out of the car and locked it.
Walking up to the porch, she knocked on the door. Her secret boyfriend opened it and pulled her inside.
Closing the door, she pressed him against it and kissed him passionately, causing him to lift her up. They made their way to the bedroom, where he sat down on the bed.
Breaking the kiss, rested her head on his chest after they had sex. They had their hands intertwined.
"I missed you," The blonde man whispered into her ear, kissing her cheek.
"I missed you too, babe," She replied.
"How is she doing?" He asked.
"I don't know, and I don't even care. I'm starting to question why I proposed," Selena said.
"You love her, that's why," He said.
"Let's watch a movie," She suggested, not wanting to discuss her wife.
"Which one?" He asked.
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre," She answered with a smirk.
He nodded, putting on the movie and starting it. She ended up falling asleep and received a call from her wife, Eugenia, which went to voicemail.
"Where is she?" She wondered as she climbed into bed.
Closing her eyes, she drifted off to sleep.
