Chapter 12 - 'Heat of the moment'

Shay's POV

It has been two days since the start of the school year and yet we're already loaded with tons of school works. I groaned in frustration as I lay on top of my bed doing my math homework.

"You know you're the only person I know who complains about school work but still gets high grades." Troian stated as she enter my room with ANOTHER tub of ice cream, scooping up and eating it like the monster she is.

"And you're the only person I know who can finish six tubs of ice cream in an hour." I said being frank with her. Giving up with my assignment I tossed it to the other side of the room landing to Troian's feet.

Troian picked it up and examined it. "Hmmm... Equations of lines? This is easy as pie, you just have to rewrite it in standard form. First, find the slope and use the point-slope formula if its given two of its points. Or you may use the slope intercept, finding first the x-intercept or the y-intercept. Tada! You have the answer!" she said smiling gloriously at me then added. "You're welcome, Shannon!" which I rolled my eyes to.

"I know how to do it, Troi. My mind's just not really working right now." I let out another groan while rubbing my temples hoping it would wake my brain cells up.

"Hey, you're still not telling me the reason why you did what you did. And you have to do it right now because my helicopter will pick me up in the next..." she joked, looking at her invisible watch. "30 minutes. So spill the beans princess or else I'll be spilling something else in your perfect-carpeted floor." she threatened me with a spoon, her ice cream slightly leaning towards the floor and an ice cream was about to drop.

"Okay jeez!" I said stopping her. "Jesus, I don't know where to start... Okay. Lucy came into my house trying to cheer me up and we talked about the incident. Then she started going on about how she didn't expect Ashley to take out a 6-foot tall man which of course I didn't know about. So I started freaking out and-" I stopped mid sentence as Troian interrupted me with a stupid remark.

"Yeah it's kinda your thing." I looked at her in confusion. "You know freaking out and stuff, like what you did when you hit that green-eyed girl, what was her name? La- Lara? Or was it Lacey?" she started laughing earning her a death glare from me. "I'm just saying!" she raised both of her hands up as if surrendering.

"So again as I was saying I started freaking out because I didn't know Ashley was the one who took the guy down. So immediately I decided to go to Ashley's house and thank her for everything. And when I got there, she opened the door to her room with only a towel on. Her hair still dripping wet, water dripping down her body and her long legs showing-" I said dreamily as I remember Ashley's state that day.

"Okay Jesus! You can stop right there!" she said with her eyes closed and holding out her hand like a stop sign, the other still holding the ice cream. "The last thing I need from you is describing her parts and anatomy to me, I have those too." she pointed out. "And I said tell me 'why' you kissed her not what happened that lead you to kiss her." she said putting emphasis to the word why.

"I-i guess...well because... i don't know, its kinda like a heat of the moment kind of thing you know. I thought it was a perfect time to kiss her." I stated dully, still unsure of what I said.

"Right. Heat of the moment, Shannon you just don't walk in someone's room then kiss them and say 'it was just a heat of the moment'. You have to have a better reason than that." Troi replied not convinced of my reason.

"Well what can I say?! Even I don't know why I kissed her! I just wanted to! I wanted to feel her warmth and comfort, like what I felt when she held me in her arms!" I blurted out putting both of my hands in my face with frustration.
