No, no, no, no, no! This can't be happening!

As I looked around for my phone, I heard a faint buzz from under the bed. Sure enough, there it was, the screen lit up with a new notification. Last night, I was up late reading stories online, and I guess my phone slipped from my hands when I fell asleep.

Whew.

After finding my phone, I continued to pack my suitcase for the stay at my client's house. My father's definition of "bodyguarding", basically means staying by his or her side at least half of the time you're awake. Which is why I have to live with them.

"Hey, Jade? You done?" I heard Alec ask from the other side of my bedroom door.

"Almost." I grunted as I lifted the suitcase from the floor, "Just gotta pack my bag."

"Okay. Bring your stuff downstairs when you're done." His footsteps slowly faded away.

I put a hoodie, my earphones, a book, and some snacks in the bag I am going to carry. After double checking everything, I carried my suitcase and bag downstairs.

"Eat your breakfast, honey." My mom said as she handed me a paper bag of something.
"Remember, don't hesitate to call if you need help or anything."

"I know, Mom. I will." I smiled as
I took the bag from her, "Bye!" Somehow, I felt like I was on the first day of school, not my new job.

I followed Dad and Alec down to the basement parking lot, and got in the back seat with Alec after putting my suitcase in the trunk.

"Okay, you remember the hide-and-seek training we did as kids?" Alec asked, getting started to make sure I remember everything that we ever learned.

"Yes."

"When you're securing the area, don't forget to check every possible place to hide, no matter how unlikely it seems." He warned me, "Like how you hid in the flower bushes even though there wasn't any space."

"Yep." I replied smiling at the memory.

For the rest of the ride, he helped me review everything, and gave me some helpful tips to keep my client safe, or make my job a little bit easier. While I ate my breakfast of toast with Nutella, and drank a apple flavored Capri-Sonne.

As we came up to a set of humongous gates, I breathed out, "And here we are."

Sorry this was such a short chapter! I promise I'll update tomorrow, cuz I'm going to sleep soon, and my brain isn't working all that well :p
This is like a really uninteresting filler chapter, isn't it? Oh well. Things will become more exciting from now (>﹏<)
Keep readin'!
