The Hidden Spirit

Chapter Six

All I could remember when I was shook awake by Jack was hitting a wall, since I was still a wolf and wasn't thinking clearly, I snapped at him growling, like a wolf does when threatened. Then when my head cleared I felt a huge head ache, I waved my spear and changed back to normal. Jack led me to where the others were and I followed, we came to a little pond like thing with painted pictures on the stone.

Tooth was talking about something while I zoned out, using my creative sights to imagine what Jamie was doing, it showed he was still asleep. I was confused, it felt like it had been hours yet it was still nighttime where Jamie was. I got bored listening to everything and flipped to the page of the Nightmare horse, I went onto the page next to it and started drawing something that seemed evil, I didn't know what it was.

When I looked at it it wasn't even a creature like usual, but it seemed to be a type of room. It was dark and I didn't like it so I skipped the page and shut the book, North had just shouted "idea" which made me snap to reality. I saw him pointing a sword at Bunny.

"We could collect the teeth!" He said.

"You think we could do it?" Tooth said smiling.

"I deliver presents in one night all over world!" North said.

"I put eggs everywhere in one day," Bunny said.

Tooth smiled even more.

North, Jack and Bunny made it a contest to see who got more teeth, me and Tooth watched them giggling. I went into a room that seemed familiar, it was the room of the child the night I first met Tooth. I started getting so excited, I turned into a red bird and dived into Jamie's window. Tooth was there and so was Sandman, and Jack, North and Bunny came in a minute later.

Jack and Bunny started arguing then North silenced it by showing he won, Tooth shushed them while I flew up to the nest in the room. I saw a light and chirped which made him point at me, then the others. I heard North tell Jack they could see most of us, I saw Jack's face droop as I turned into a human.

Jamie hugged me to where I couldn't breathe and the others looked at me because a child could see me, I smiled a fake smile. Then Abby the greyhound began growling at Bunny.

"I got this," He said taking out a boomerang.

"Do you know what Greyhounds do to rabbits?" Jack said, tapping the clock making ring.

"Crikey!" He said and began jumping around the room from the dog.

Sandman got bumped and knocked out almost every guardian besides him, me and Jack. Jamie got knocked out too and once Sandy laid him down three Nightmares ran past the window, we all went after them but got surrounded.

"You get the ones on the left, Creata gets the ones in the middle and I get the ones on the right?" He said uncertainly.

"Okay, I have my own way," I took out my spear and waved it around changing into the wolf.

I turned into it and started chasing the horses, killing one by one pretty quickly I was about to get the last one when I got hit by something, I yelped in pain of my ribs breaking. I stumbled up snarling in pain to see Pitch, he was messing with my sight. I saw the guardians glaring at me and all said one by one, "We don't need you."

I kept growling, trying to stand against my fear I couldn't help but back away, I kept myself from cowering so I stood head on growling. He then made it where I saw Jack, he looked like he was mad at me, he kept telling me, "Nobody will care about you! Get that through your head!" That got a reaction from me, I stopped growling and back away my ears flat on my head, I had tears gathering in my eyes.

Pitch laughed, "Come with me, and you will never have to feel betrayal, come with me," He put his hand out and I heard the others calling.

Their voices kept getting closer, Pitch kept his hand extended until the guardians were there. I could tell they hadn't seen him but they saw me terrified in the alley, Jack came running and as soon as he got near I growled. He backed away a bit at that, I ran out of the alley still hearing Jack's voice echo in my head, "Nobody will care about you!"
