"Abigail, over here!"
"Over here!"
"Abigail, what is your response to-"
"Back off! Let us through!" My bodyguard, Duke, led me through the hounding paparazzi to the waiting car.
Once safely inside the black suv I pulled my long dark brown hair out of it's up-do and took my Ray Bans off to reveal my chocolate brown eyes. Pulling away from the curb we headed towards the studio for my photoshoot.
"Well, that was fun." I said settling into the backseat.
"Everyone wants more of you. And if you know what's good for you then you better use this attention for your own benefit," my publicist, Caitlyn McAllen, sat on my left.
"I'd like to see you out there," I said jerking my thumb behind us.
A single chime from the depths of my bag ended the conversation. Reaching into my bag I pulled out my iPhone 5 in it's sparkling case. A pop up on my lock screen indicated that I had a new message from my agent.
From: Laura Mercer
After your shoot meet me at the filming studio for your television show. The network wants to audition you for a recurring role on another show for them. Do NOT be late.
I quickly tapped out a quick message saying I would be there on time. Deciding to pass time by not talking to my opportunistic publicist I opened Twitter. Scrolling through my feed I that I had gained more then a few followers. Same thing with my Vine, Instagram, and Tumblr.
"This shoot for Teen Vogue is really important for your career. This could help your image," Caitlyn said taking my attention away from my phone to her.
"You say that about all of my shoots," I said rolling my eyes.
"I do not!" She huffed.
"Ladies! We're here, but you probably didn't know that because of your bickering." My driver, Ralph, turned around to face us.
"Thank you Ralph!" I yell to him as I got out of the car.
"Always a pleasure Miss." He replied with a smile.
I followed Caitlyn through the revolving glass doors to the lobby of the studio. It's bright and sunny atmosphere accompanied by it's amazing view of the Tower Bridge and Tower of London made the perfect setting for a photography studio. The receptionist led us to Studio A where a makeup artist, hair stylist, and wardrobe assistant were waiting.
"Marc will be with you shorty he's stuck in traffic about twenty minutes away," the receptionist said through a forced smile and then teetered away on her designer heels.
"While we're waiting for Marc we might as well get you ready," a blonde woman who would do my makeup stuck out her hand. "My name is Mika by the way. And this is Kelsey and Meg."
"Nice to meet you." I shook each of their hands and then followed them through the door to the dressing room.
Mika shoved me into a swivel chair and held a plastic makeup kit in front of me. "Let's get you ready!"
---
Nearly an hour later and I was ready for the first part of the shoot. As part of my cover look they had me wear a navy peplum dress with a lace cutout, sparkly silver heels, and my newly curled hair was held halfway up a silver clip. Marc took several shots, had me change, took more pictures, and then started the process all over again.
"You did wonderful, Love!" Marc air kissed both of my checks and gave me a hug.
"Thank you, I enjoyed it!" I giggled at his British accent.
After changing back into my skinny jeans, white blouse, and tan flats I met Laura in the lobby. My white D&G bag bumped against my hip as I walked down the steps of the building to the car. The drive across the city to the filming studio was quick and we arrived within less then a half hour.
"They are waiting for you down the hall through the last door on your left." Laura said pushing me across the studio, "They're also filming a music video so be quiet and discreet. I'm their agent and need to talk to them about something."
"For who?"
"One Direction." She said simply.
"What? Why didn't you tell me? Can I meet them? I love their music!" I began babbling.
Ever since they had become famous I had wanted to meet them. Laura thought I was crazy and that I shouldn't have a crush on other famous people. The inside of my apartment closet was plastered with their pictures.
"Maybe another day. Now get to your audition before you're late!" Laura gave me one final shove towards the hallway and then left in the other direction.
---
The audition went well. The part was something that I had always wanted to do and it looked like I might get it. They said they'd call back in about a week if they wanted me to come in again.
I walked the long hallway back to the open filming area where Laura was waiting. The One Direction Boys were standing on surfboards and behind them was an ocean set.
"Stay here I'll be right back." Laura said pulling out her phone.
"What! Why?"
"Stay here! And don't touch anything, I'll be back soon," with that she turned and strode off down a hallway.
"Abigail?" A familiar voice asked from behind me.
"Lucas? Ohmygawd! How have you been?" I turned to see my costar Lucas Adams, standing on a Segway. We were on the same televisions series and were between seasons. I hadn't talked to him in a month.
"Great, what are you doing here?" He leaned forward and moved closer until I stood an inch away from him.
"I had an audition, you?"
"Filming, but were on break. Wanna ride?" He asked turning around.
"Yes, but I'm not supposed to go anywhere though."
"Not even for a few minutes?" he whined
"Well, I guess so," I followed him through a corridor to where ten other Segways sat waiting to be used.
It took a while for me to be able to move around without hitting anything much to Lucas' enjoyment. When I finally managed to use it with slight experience we raced around the huge building. Although playing tag on a Segway is not exactly safe nobody told us to stop or get off as we flew through the complex.
"Why are you so slow?" Lucas asked as I chased him down a hall.
"Shut up! This is my first time!" I called back.
He rounded a corner ahead and disappeared from my sight.
Not wanting to be lost on a part of the building I didn't know I pushed forward faster hoping to catch up. I looked down at the handle bars for a second and then up again.
"Whoa!" I tried to stop before I collided with the person turning the corner, but couldn't
We collied and I was sent flying forward off of the Segway. I landed on something hard and the air was knocked out of my as something solid slammed into my chest. Opening my eyes I saw the green ones of someone else staring back at me. They belonged to no other then Harry Styles.
