Hearing Harry say that I had hurt him in such a horrible way broke my heart. Although, he had hurt me I knew I had taken it a little too far. There had never been that much between us. What we had was just a fling, right?
"I'm so sorry." I broke down in tears realizing how badly he must have felt.
"Abs, it's okay. I deserved it." Harry whispered into my ear pulling me closer to him.
"No, you didn't. I overreacted and I'm sorry." I pushed away with my hands on his heaving chest to look up at him.
"Ahem!" We broke apart to see Zayn holding Alex's arms behind his back. Liam had the other twin in a headlock. Damn, these boys always found new ways to surprise me.
"Sorry." Harry and I both muttered.
"Let me go!" Alex struggled against Zayn's grip unable to move.
"Fine, but don't bother coming back." Zayn released Alex.
Liam released his brother too. At the osame time Harry moved protectively in front of me. The muscles beneath his fitted shirt tensed ready to move if necessary. The twins huffed in annoyance and turned down the alley towards the road. Harry didn't move from his position until the twins were quite a ways down the alley from us.
"Do you want to leave?" Harry asked turning back to face me.
"Y-Yes." I stuttered still shaken up by the fight.
"Zayn, Liam, we're going to leave. See you back at the hotel." Harry guided me to the back door of the club.
They both nodded and followed Harry and me through the door. Music still blasted through the speakers. Harry's hand wrapped around mine as he led me through the club. The air was hot and humid. A drastic difference from the temperature outside. As I attempted to follow Harry I was pushed from side to side by people dancing. His grip loosened when a red head girl stumbled into our connected hands. Her drink spilled down the front of my dress soaking through the thin material. Instinctively I pulled my hand out of Harry's to try to wipe away the drink.
"Abigail!" Harry's voice was distant as if he was moving further away from me.
"Harry!" I moved to where he had been when I let go of his hand.
His distinctive curly hair was nowhere to be seen amongst the crowd as I searched the crowd for him. I wandered aimlessly through the crowd trying to find the door we had come in from. I gasped when an arm snaked around my waist and pulled me into the body of someone behind me. I turned around expecting one of the twins or another creep, but was pleasantly surprised to see Harry grinning down at me.
"Found you." He smiled showing off his dimples.
"You scared me. I thought you were one of the twins!"
"Sorry. Follow me." Harry grabbed my hand again and led me in the opposite direction.
"How are we getting back to the hotel?" I asked when we reached the exit door.
"We'll walk. The hotel is only a few blocks away." He opened the door for me.
The chilly night air nipped at my cheeks and nose. The thin material if my dress hardly kept me warm so I wrapped my arms around myself to keep from freezing. Stars twinkled above Harry and me as we slowly made our way back to the hotel. We had barely walked a block when I pulled my heels off and let them dangle by the straps off my fingertips. The cold concrete of the sidewalk against my bare feet relieved the soreness from wearing the heels all night.
"Why don't you hate me?" I asked swinging my shoes as we walked.
"Why would I hate you?" Harry asked confused.
"Because of the way I acted. I made what happened way much more then it should have been."
"Abs, I'm not going to hate you for having feelings."
"I know that, but I treated the situation in a way that I shouldn't have. We were never really together, right?" He flinched at my words. "I shouldn't have been that affected, but I was. I really liked you."
"Liked? I still like you, Abs. Don't you feel the same?"
"Of course I do. Just not that way. Or at least I think I do. I thought we had the start of something real and then-"
"Then I ruined it. We did though."
"Did what?"
"The start of something. Something I want to keep going." He said.
I was at a loss for words. How do I respond? I wanted so badly for there to be something between us again and now that was almost possible. I felt so alive around Harry. He made me feel happy even in moments if sadness and doubt. We hardly knew each other and I wanted so badly to know him more.
"Cold?" Harry gestured to my arms when I began rubbing my hands up and down them to warm myself up.
"It's alright. I've been in worse." I bit my lip to keep my teeth from chattering. I didn't want him to know I was lying.
"Here take this." He shrugged off the blazer he had put back in before we exited the club.
"No, that's alright. Honestly, I'm fine." I pushed away his hand that held out the jacket to me.
"You're lying. I don't need it anyways." He moved to put it around my shoulders.
"Thank you." I mumbled deciding not to argue with him.
"You excited for the show tomorrow?"
"Yes, I love London! Sad it's our last show here though."
"I'm going to miss it too. But, you get to go home soon. Are you happy about that?"
"Of course I am. It's just I'd almost rather not go home."
"Why not? Don't you miss your family?"
"I do it's just.....there's a lot there I'd rather not deal with."
"Oh."
"I think this is the first we've talked without fighting in a while." I realized.
"Yeah, it is. I like it." Harry smiled.
"Me too." I admitted.
"Lou asked me to watch Lux for a little while tomorrow morning before soundcheck. Would you like to help?"
"I would love that."
"Great, meet me in my room tomorrow morning then?"
"Sure. Wow! You were right! The hotel is really close. The drive felt much longer." I said when we reached the lobby of the hotel.
"Time flies when you're having fun." He winked cheekily before pressing the up button the elevator.
I rolled my eyes earning a laugh from him. The ride up to our floor was silent. We reached my room first. I pulled my keycard out of my pocket on the dress and inserted it into the slot turning the light green.
"Night, Harry."
"Night, Abby." I began closing the door when Harry called out again. "Wait! I almost forgot!" He pushed the door open.
"Harry what are yo-" I was left speechless when Harry softly kissed my cheek.
For a reason I can't explain I turned my head towards him. Our lips meet in a sweet kiss. Warmth spread through my body as I dropped my heels and pulled Harry closer. His large hands cradled my waist as I tugged at his curls with my fingers. The warmth turned into a fire as Harry's tongue slipped into my mouth deepening the kiss even further. We had never kissed like this before and I didn't know why. It felt so good. So right. Then, everything came crashing back. I pushed Harry away and slammed the door shut muttering a quick "Sorry" as I locked him out. I turned with my back pressed against wooden door and slid down to sit in a crouch against it. My fingers ran through my hair as I began to wonder what the hell just happened.
