Fake. That's how I felt as I sat in the plush chair with my hands clasped together in my lap and a forced smile upon my face. I was an actress this should be easy. One who had a reputation for being the greatest of my time. Yet, as I sat there across from the interviewer I felt as if I was the absolute worst.
"Your relationship with boy band member Harry Styles was confirmed last week by Harry himself. How are things between you two?" She smiled genuinely.
"They aren't going. We actually broke up yesterday."
"Oh really? Well, that was fast." She didn't sound surprised. She seemed relieved. Was our relationship really that bad?
"Yeah, we rushed into it and realized that yesterday. It was a mutual decision."
"Well, I'm sorry. You two seemed very happy together." She spoke with fake sympathy in her voice.
"Me too."
"What's it like being on tour with one of the biggest boy bands in the world? It must be a pretty amazing experience."
"It is. It truly is. I'm very happy that I was given the chance to play for them. They all are very welcoming and just fun people to be around."
"What's it like being surrounded by so many men though?"
"It doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Although, sometimes it is awkward." I said causing the audience to laugh.
"Has being on tour affected your acting at all?"
"Yes, I had to leave my show for a season so that I could finish the tour. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I decided to take it. I love acting and am excited to finish the tour so I can go back to the set."
"What does your mother think about all of this?"
"She wasn't fond of my decision to leave my show for a season, but I think she's gotten over it. She's just concerned about me making the right choices for my future like any mother would."
"This is a question I've always wanted to ask and you seem to because you seem to be the person who would have an interesting answer so I thought this would be the perfect time to ask!"
"Okay?" I asked apprehensive of the question to come.
"What is something you hate most about being a celebrity?"
"Oh, I got this! Before I say what it is let me explain it too because I don't want you to jump to conclusions." I warned.
"Okay, go ahead."
"I hate signing autographs! And not because I don't like my fans or anything, but I absolutely hate my signature. It's awful and every celebrity I know has this really pretty swoopy signature. Mine is just like scribbly and bleh." I gestured with my hands wildly.
"You're such an interesting person, Abigail. I'm so happy to have you on here!"
"I'm happy to be here! I haven't done an interview in forever and my publicist has been nagging me to do something for quite a while now." I said with fake excitement.
"Well I'm sad to say this, but it's time to end the show. Thank you so much for coming! It was lovely having you!" The interviewer shook my hand as I stood up.
"Thank you for having me! Bye!" I waved to the audience before walking off stage.
Security was already waiting to escort me out of the studio and to the car waiting outside. I informed one of the burly men that I had to use the loo and calmly rounded the corner of the hallway. Once, I was sure I wasn't being followed right away I began running towards the back exit.
