Chapter: Six (Barren)

Nyomi's POV

"You were both naked in a bathroom together?!" Kitty broke down laughing. Alina was holding her stomach and I glared at Raven, "Only because she told Matt he could take a shower in my bathroom!"

"I swear I thought you were still in the Library!" She laughed. "So Raven how are you and Asher?" Bree asked. Raven closed her eyes and smiled, "He's great."

"When are you and Asher going to make little Alpha pups?" I asked Raven. She gasped and blushed, "Payback hurt girl" Raven grabbed a pillow and threw it at me.

Alina fell on the ground and began snorting. I looked up to see that Kitty wasn't laughing, in fact she seemed sad, "Kitty what's wrong?" I asked.

She looked up at us tears started to form in her eyes, "Kaydon and I were going to tell you sooner but I suppose it would be alright if I tell you now."

Raven sat beside her and held her hand, "Kitty?"

She suddenly bursted out crying and sobbing, "It's so terrible Raven the worst thing that can happen has happen to me!"

I jumped up, "Kitty are you sick? Are you dying? Maybe I can help!"

She shook her head and sobbed more, "I wish I was though, I went to see the Pack doctor a few days ago with Kaydon, for months we have been trying to have a baby but for some reason it wouldn't work."

Bree sat on the other side of her and Alina held her other hand, "Go on please, were here for you."

Kitty sniffed, "She brought Vayrin over to examine me, then Vayrin told me that I'm... I'm... I'm Barren!"

We all gasped, "Oh Goddess no!" Bree whispered. Kitty cried harder, "I can't have children, there won't be an heir to the Beta position and now I'm useless as a Werewolf!"

"Maybe you can adopt" I suggested hoping to help her but she shook her head, "No It's rare that werewolf parents will leave their children up for adoption and it would be hard to adopt a human child."

"Kitty I'm so sorry" Raven gave her a hug, we all joined into the hug, "T-there is another thing, Kaydon is thinking of taking a Apprentice and giving the Beta position to him and his mate."

"I read of something like that in some of the books about Werewolves" I said. "If an Alpha pair can't have children then they choose an apprentice to be the next Alpha, Betas and Thirds to it too. "

Kitty nodded, "Since Kaydon is the Beta it's his right to choose and the Alpha gets the final vote."

Bree tilted her head to one side, "Does Kaydon know who is going to be the new Beta?"

Kitty looked at her I could see something in her eyes but I couldn't tell what it was, "Yes Bree and I have approved with his choice, and it won't just be a Beta, it will be a Beta pair."

"He's mated" Alina breathed.

"Who is it Kitty?" Raven asked.

Kitty smiled, "If you and Asher agree, which I know you both will... then Jarlan and Bree will be the new Beta pair."

"Hey Nyomi" Matt bounded up to me, "Hey Matt."

He cleared his throat, "I would like to apologize for the inconvenience that happened a few days ago" he said.

I felt myself blush as he said that.

"So... I heard about Kaydon and Kitty" he said sadly, "That must be hard for them."

"I wish there was a cure I could find for women who are barren" I sighed and slumped on the couch.

"But think about it too" he said, "Jarlan and Bree are going to be the new Beta pair."

"Cool..."

He gently grabbed my hand and I pulled away, "Ny what's wrong?" I felt tears drip down my face, "I'm so freaking useless, I couldn't save Kyle, I couldn't save King Thrion and there is nothing I can do to help Kitty."

Matt gently wiped my tears away, "Sometimes there are things even a healer can't do, don't forget, Vayrin was by your side and even she couldn't save them."

I sniffed and sat down on the couch, "I know but I still feel useless."

He sat down with me and grasped my hands again, "You aren't useless my dear, you my dear Warlock are the most beautiful women in all of the world, you are smart and no matter what happens, as your mate I will love you."

That was the icing on the cake. I broke down crying and grabbed his shirt, "Your so nice to me!" I cried.

He gently rubbed my back I still cried but I thought about Matt.

He's such a nice mate, maybe I do need him.

Happy new year everyone! 2016 Is finally here and it is time for a new chapter! I bought myself a Kobo reader with all my Christmas money and it is amazing. Anyways so Kitty has revealed that she is Barren and Nyomi is starting to have feelings with Matt.
