Toursies Adventure

Chapter 9

Mom and Michael decided they wanted to watch from the house. Mom reluctantly let me watch from backstage as long as I stayed out of everyone's way and let everyone "stay in character". I stayed in Stephanie and Angela's dressing room. They were so excited that they were spending their last shows in Disneyland.

"Is it surreal to think that this is your last week?" I asked.

"It's weird. I mean it's for the better, but I'm going to be a hot mess on Sunday."

"It's been really great getting to know you guys. I'm gonna miss you guys. And I know the rest of the cast will to." I said.

"Awww Allie!" Stephanie said," that's so sweet."

"Five minutes till places!" A monotone voice came over the intercom.

"I can't wait to see the show!" I said.

After a while I stood at stage left watching the guys go through their pre-show rituals. The overture began and it sounded amazing. The guys all looked at each other and some went off to move the towers onstage for the first number. Ben walked over towards me. "Is it possible I'm already in love with it?" I whispered.

"Yeah. It's pretty beautiful. And our crew is amazing. The actors get so much credit, but it wouldn't be nearly as awesome without our crew."

And with that he was off up to the towers. Carrying the Banner was starting and wow. They all were spectacular. I mean the dancing, the singing, the acting. And I was going to get to be a part of this for a year. It was absolutely breathtaking. The guys all came off after a scene that Michael would soon be a part of. And as they all can back, I stepped out of their way.

"So, what did you think? Worth a couple Tony's yet?" I heard a breathless voice behind me say.

"Ben, oh my god. That was incredible. I mean I knew you guys were good, but I mean that was oh my god. I'm speechless."

"Would you consider yourself a fansie yet?"

"Um absolutely. That was just-I have no words."

"Well thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We all love what we do. Every night is a whole new show."

His face lit up when talking about it. And then he was gone into the dark. As The Bottom Line came on. I've never met anyone my age who loves something so much as he does.
