Chapter 13

I knocked on the door and sighed in relief when the door opened with a smile.

"You alright babe?"

"I'm fine. Me and mom got in a fight." I layer down on her bed and sighed in exasperation.

Melissa started to pour me some tea.

"Is it the favoritism again?"

"Of course it is. I can't be hanging out with Benjamin cause of the thing I told you about a whole year ago and because Michael is the reason we're here in the first place. I love the kid, but I hate how she always has to bring him into stuff. But then she starts throwing around the crazy idea that I like Benjamin."

"Crazy?" She asked.

I look at her confused.

"Um, Allie, you guys are pretty close.

"Not you too. He's a friend!"

"Allie, I know the difference alright. I know these boys. And there's something between you two. I've seen you around Josh and Sky. It's not the same."

"Even if I did like him do you understand how crazy my mom would go!"

"True. I mean, you and your mom just need a mature conversation without any yelling. Just to let bygones be bygones."

"Yeah. You're right. But for now can I stay here for tonight? It's already 2:45AM."

"Sure thing, babe," she said reassuringly, "cause I wanna talk more about you and Benji."

"Meeelll!" I groaned.

"Come on. I'm not saying go confess your love to him. I just wanna talk. I saw how your face lit up during his turns during Seize The Day."

"I hardly know him!" I said taking a sip of my tea.

"I know. But that's what natural chemistry is for! Oh! And Joshy told me about him running out during dinner earlier. What was that about?"

"Oh it's nothing."

"Look at you. Keeping his secrets. How presh as Meredith would say."

"I don't even know what to feel. I was hardly allowed to think about boys after the incident."

"Hey, babe, you know that whole thing wasn't for fault right? You weren't to blame."

"Trust me. I know. But not according to mom. I was the main cause of all of his 'stress'."

"Have you told any of the guys about it?"

"NO! And they're not going to find out! Right?"

"Of course. I just hate to see you so upset over all of this. But promise me you'll talk to your mom."

"I guess. Night Mel-Bell."

"Night Alliegator."
