After what seemed sometime, Sam was lying on the floor next to her mothers cold dead body. She cried softly. She knew there was no need to muffle her cry since she was alone. All alone. Her crying softly had somehow given her the comfort that someone was there and she was hiding her feelings. Like she had always done.
"Sam?" Darren asked quietly. He poked his head threw the front door. Sam hadn't even heard him open it. "Sam? Are you okay? Why are you lying on the floor?"
"Darren.. I want to go with you." Sam croked. Darrens faced twisted into sadness and understandment. He walked over to her and carefully picked up her fragile body off her mom. She clung to him like he was going to jump off a cliff with her. She sobbed into his shirt soaking it. Darren rocked her slow. He was shocked of how innocent and volnarable she was. He knew it was a bad time to think of anything humorist but he couldn't help but think how emotion looked so good on her. He knew if he said that in anyother situation it'd make her laugh sarcasticly and shoot a insult back at him. This image made him smirk.
"What? A girl in distress makes you smile. Well aren't you a friggin kind gentlemen." Sam spat when he saw the dreamy smile on his face. This only made his laugh out loud. He felt a wash of guilt over him. This wasn't to time for laughter or smiles no matter how her sarcastic humor made him grin.
"We should go now." Darren said quickly.
"Can I, can I just have one more moment with my mom. Please? To say good bye?" Sam looked into his dark eyes pleading.
"Fine." Darren sighed, "Five minutes."
"Thanks." Sam thanked. Darren turned and left to room to leave her to greave her mother.
Sam bent down and put her hand on her mothers face. It was cold and lifeless.
"I'm sorry. For everything. Everything I did and causing you worry and I just want you to know. I didn't mean it. I love you so much. Its just not fair." Sam cried. Tear streamed her face once again, "And I'm going to gain control I promise. I hope you can forgive me." She sobbed into her mothers shirt, "I am so, so sorry."
She stood up and walked up to the counter. Taking and pen and paper she wrote a quick long date explaining to Tamara she wasn't returning and neither was mom. She said someday she'll explain what had happend but it wasnt right time right now and she had no time. She also asked that Tamara will someday forgive her and maybe live with her when she returns.
When Sam finished her heartbroken letter she went to her room to pack her things. Sam entered her room and took a long look. She'll never see her things again. She wished she could take it all with her. So many memories. She sadly knew there was no time to dwell down memory lane.
" Am not getting in that!" Sam snoffed at the hunk of junk.
"What are you talking about its a beauty."Darren insited. Sam studied the thing. It was a blue ford. It was starting to rust on the sides from being old and being left outside to much in the rain. Sam could only imagine what the inside looked like.
"Hunk. Of. Junk." She repeated slow.
"You either get in it or we walk to the airport. Which do you prefere?" Darren cocked his head at her.
"I'll walk thanks you." Sam said subbornly. She walked out the drive way onto the road. After a few yards Darren rolled up.
"Stubborn little chicken aren't you." Darren laughed.
