Suddenly the front door got ripped open by a tall boy with piercings and tattoos all over his body. He forcefully shook his red hair and let the snow fall down to the floor before he looked up at me with a smile. "Emmy! Wow, long time no seen."
"Michael?" I questioned with a wide mouth. What was he doing here? He was supposed to be in Europe or something. I was so confused. I hadn't seen him since he was 16 years old and I was 15. His shoulders were broader and he had tattooes all over his body and two piercings.
"If you don't mind I brought a friend this Christmas. He had nowhere to go, so I invited him. He won't cause any trouble." Before I got to speak another word a tall figure appeared behind my cousin.
"Oh god." I muttered and took a step back. He was gorgeous. "Never say never, Clifford." His dark voice echoed.
"Em, this is Calum. Cal, this is my cousin Emmy, but Em for short." I hardly heard Michael because I was focusing on the tall boy in front of me.
His tall frame and broad shoulders gave him an athletic form and I saw his chest muscles through the white t-shirt he wore. His hair was styled up in a dark quiff and his brown eyes met mine before I quickly tore them apart.
Calum gave me a small nod as hello, and I did the same back. "Come on Cal. Let's go say hi to the rest." Michael said and walked towards our living room. Cal slowly followed him, but his eyes were was still looking at me. I watched as they turned around the corner before I let out the air I was holding in.
It was something about that boy that made my blood rush in my vains and at the same time made my hair stand up on my neck. His eyes were like fire both hot as fuck and cold as ice and darkness. I followed them around the corner to get to the rest of my family.
Everything was dead quiet as everybody was looking at the young men who stood in front of them.
I glanced at my aunt and saw her holding on to her two children tight and glared at the dark haired boy. Michael's mom looked astonished at Michael and then at me who stood leaning against the door.
"This is Calum everyone. He's just going to stay a couple hours then both him and I are going to another place. Hope it's okay." Michael said and smiled at his family, but he didn't get a smile back. Everyone was just staring.
"What's that on his lip?" One of my younger cousins asked which made their aunt to cover his mouth with her hand and mumble something to him.
"It's a lip ring." Cal answered with his dark voice and ran his fingers over his lip. "I got it about 2 years ago."
"Ok-Okay, well Calum. You are welcome here for a couple hours." My mother stuttered and glanced around the room. Everybody gave her unapproved looks and glared.
"Great." Michael said cheerfully and smiled. "Let's go!" Michael said and dragged Calum to the Tv and started it.
Slowly everyone began talking again, but I saw how mom looked at me with a questioning look which I answered with shaking my head.
She shrugged and began talking to her sister again, who kept on holding on to her child, just in case he would run over to the two teenage boys who sat only a few meters away from the rest.
"Em! Come over here!" Michael cheered and waved me over. Hesitantly I made my way over to him and sat down on the couch next to him. I felt Calum's eyes bore through my body, like he wanted to kill me or something. But he suddenly glanced out the window before he looked back at me.
"How's life going?" Michael asked and placed his arm around my shoulder and held me close which made me get a better view over Cal. "Kind of good." I answered and looked at Calum who was staring out the window again, as if he was looking for someone.
"I just broke up with Brad a few weeks ago." I continued which made Calum look at me with a cold expression and snort quietly for himself before tearing his eyes of me again and look down on his hands.
"What why? Haven't you been together for like 1,5 years?" Michael asked which made me look questioning at him. How did he know? I hadn't seen Michael for almost 3 years and he knew I had been in a relationship?
"Y-Yeah." I stuttered and frowned a bit without Michael noticing. "Why did it end?" He continued and jumped a bit closer to Calum who frowned and glared at him before raising his eyebrows at Michael. Michael gave him a smirk in return as I had to slide closer to Michael because he held around me.
"Uhm, he wasn't my type. When we were hanging out he wanted to do stuff that I wasn't into, I guess." I answered and let out an awkward laugh. "He didn't hurt you, right?" Michael said and looked at me concerned. I quickly shoke my head. "No! Well, only once when he grabbed my wrist, but that's it." I lied and I felt how Michael tensed.
"Should I do someting about it?" he asked with a clenched jaw. "No, no. He left town only a few days after I broke up with him." I said and placed my hand on his thigh to make sure that he calmed down. "And it was in the past."
Michael looked down on me with an empty expression before raising his eyebrows and shrug. "I hope you know what you're doing, Em." He continued and squeezed my shoulder with his hand. I moved a bit closer to him and placed my head on his shoulder.
"Where have you been?" I asked and closed my eyes. "What do you mean?" "You've been gone for 3 years. Why didn't you come home?" I looked up at him and saw that he looked at Calum for some help, but he just shook his head and looked down on me with cold eyes.
"Ehm, just on a trip." "For 3 years?" "Yeah, well we went all around the world, Em." He said and smiled at me. It wasn't a Michael smile, but an empty smile. I knew he was lying.
"Ehm, Mike." Calum said and stared out the window. "What?" Michael almost snapped and glared at Cal. He leaned in and whispered something in Michaels ear which made his head snap up and glare through the window. Michaels arm suddenly held me tighter.
"Fuck." He muttered. I glanced between the brown and red haired as they stared at each other. "Are you sure?" Michael whispered and Calum rolled his eyes and nodded.
"What's going on?" I asked with a small chuckle, but they just looked at me before looking around the room and whisper to themselves. Calum suddenly stood up and walked through the room towards the door. I looked at Michael who glared at the tv in front of us.
"Michael?" I said which made him fake smile at me. "What the hell is going on?"
He bit down on his lip and looked out the window before chuckle slightly. "Nothing of course." He said and tried to brush it off, but I knew he lied. His green eyes screamed fear.
"I'm not stupid." I said and stood up from the couch. "Something is obviously wrong." Michael opened his mouth to respond but he got interrupted by Calum who ran through the door screaming.
"MICHAEL! IT'S GIBSON!"
Suddenly a window got crashed in the kitchen and a big explosion appeared.
I flew straight in to the wall and landed on the floor, right next to Michael before all went black.
