|Chapter 9|
I stood up walking to the door and I opened it. I didn't know what to say.
"Hey, um, is Mandy here?" He asked and I was about to say no when Mandy appeared from behind me.
"Came to apologize? Jerk." I moved out of the way.
"Mandy, I told you I lo-"
"Oh, save it Luke. I'm this close to dropping your ass." I waved to her and she held up a finger, telling me to wait. I grabbed my phone and sat on the couch.

When she finally came back in, she had a satisfied smile on her face.
"Get back together?" I laughed.
"We weren't not together. We just got into a little argument." She shrugged.
"Did he apologize?" She nodded. "Good."
"Did your man apologize?" She chuckled. I raised my eyebrows.
"My man? Who's that exactly?" She better not..
"Cameron, duh!" She laughed.
"Yeah, but I didn't accept that. Hell no." She's crazy to think I'd ever.
"Why not? You should just shut your mouth and do it now. It's going to happen eventually, why not now?" I sighed.
"Mandy, his apologies are never genuine. I just don't want that again. Sure, I miss it, but I have to move on. I have to grow up. It's just not going to happen again." She pouted.
"Rayne, just give him another chance." I glared at her.
"Where did this all of a sudden come from? I thought you didn't like him. Did fucking Luke tell you to do this?" I stood up.
"Only because Cameron wanted him to tell me to tell you." I shook my head.
"He can't even tell me himself see? Next time I see him, I'm choking him." I walked to the kitchen.
|Friday|
I had been sick in bed for the past three days. I just have a cold, but it's terrible. I feel like I got hit by a bus. There was a knock on the door.
"Mommy, the door!" Alexia said and I groaned.
"Look who it is first." She has a chair so she can see out of the peephole. She gasped.
"It's daddy!" I heard the chair being shoved aside and the door opening. "Dad!"
"Oh, princess, I missed you. Where's mommy?" I heard him say and I rolled my eyes, covering my head.
"She's sleeping." I closed my eyes. Maybe if I pretend I'm asleep, he'll leave me alone.
"Let's wake her up." I sighed and threw the covers off.
"Get out!" I yelled.
"No," He walked in and sat Alexia on my bed. "What's wrong with you? You look terrible."
"Thanks. I'm sick, idiot," I smiled sarcastically. "But hey, wanna watch her tonight?"
"Where are you going?" I smirked.
"None of your business." He rolled his eyes.
"You're annoying," I nodded. "Seriously, where?"
"A date." I felt him staring at me while I walked to the bathroom.
"With who?" I heard behind me.
"His name's Brandon. He's my boss." I shrugged, looking back at him.
"Your boss?" He laughed.
"Shut up, okay?" I walked past him.
"Where are you going?" He continued laughing.
"To his bed." I joked and he immediately stopped laughing.
"You're joking.." I nodded.
"I'm not that much of a whore, come on." I walked to my closet.
"Where are you going?" He asked again.
"Some fancy restaurant." I looked through my clothes.
"I think you should wear some nice sweatpants and a sweatshirt." I looked back at him and shook my head.
"I would get kicked out." I continued thumbing through my clothes.
"Then, don't wear anything above your knees." I laughed.
"I'll do what I want, thank you," I turned back around. "I have to shower, so wait out there. Goodbye." I grabbed him by his shirt and Lexi went out there to keep him company. He wanted to "approve" of my outfit. I got in the shower and did all the necessary stuff. I put my robe on and brushed through my wet hair. I pulled out the hair dryer and began drying my hair.
"Don't dress like a whore!" I heard him yell. I didn't respond. I went to my closet and pulled out a black pencil skirt that went a few inches above my knee and a long sleeved black and white thin striped shirt. It was a little bit low cut in the chest area. Not bad and you could only see like an inch of my stomach. I pulled my hair back into a bun and put some gold hoop earrings in. Not huge ones either. I then started on my makeup. I just did eyeliner, mascara and some red lipstick. It wasn't bright red, it was darker. I grabbed some black heels and then put a necklace around my neck. It was just a little gold heart. I sprayed on some perfume and grabbed a small purse. I put my phone, keys, wallet in there and then I walked down the hallway to the living room.
"Is this fine? Wouldn't want to come off as a whore." I rolled my eyes.
"That skirt is a little tight. And short," He said and I just nodded. "Is that your stomach showing? No way in hell. Go change." I shook my head.
"No. It's barely showing. If I slouch, you can't see it. This skirt is the one I wear to work so therefore it is appropriate," Alexia was just watching us bicker. "He's going to be here soon. Leave."
"No. I'd like to meet him." He smirked and I groaned.
"Don't say anything stupid and get me fired please." He laughed.
"Yeah, I should. You can come work with me." I shook my head and there was a knock on the door. I flipped him off before walking to open it.
"Hey," I said as an arm wrapped around me. I tightly closed my eyes. "Get away." I shook off his arm.
"Hey." Brandon said. He was just in a suit. Typical.
"Ready?" I asked. He nodded.
"Lexi, come tell mommy goodbye!" Cameron said. She walked over to me.
"Who are you?" She smiled.
"Brandon." He returned the gesture.
"That's cute. Bye mom." I leaned down, hugging her.
"Be good." I kissed her cheek.
"Okay." She giggled, kissing mine.
"Bye." I waved. I sent a glare Cameron's way and walked out the door. He led me down to his car and this dreadful date began.
