A good Start

I'm unsure...I'm don't understand stand why. The decisions people make and think there the best at that time. He left...but now he back. Crying out on the cold park ground I grieved because I was torn. Seeing made me happy but I had too much pain from the memories of him not being there to let that show. Giving in we went to Ihop to grab something to eat.

Everything was just so different this time around. The last time I saw him he was homeless on the street and now he looks like he owns a million-dollar company. I wonder where he found the clothes or who did he rob. not to seem judgmental but dude was a major bomb before now. lost to the world and not worthy of being a father.

"So we just gonna have this awkward silence?"

He asked trying to break the ice. I just sipped on my orange juice. I literally didn't have nothing to say.

"Ok...So how you been?"

"For now...alive. Well in my case...born again."

I responded dryly.

"Yea...Ya aunt told me about that."

"Why would she tell you!"

"Well you are my son."

"Now you are...amazing ain't it and you didn't do no raising or caring."

I held my hand up.

"Ok...Alex look I can't fix what I did. Yes I wasn't there but I'm here now."

"And why I'm mean what can you do for me now."

"I don't know offer you a better life."

Before I could speak my phone rung Rae ringtone.

"Hold on...Hello."

"Ima hurt you in the worse way. I been calling ever since you got out. What the Fuck you are doing!?!"

He yelled.

"Rae...I ha___."

"Shut the fuck up! You round that nigga huh!"

"No I'm wi_____!"

My phone was snatched from my ear and Lamont had it.

"He been with his fuckng father lil nigga! Now check yo fucking tone or Ima see bout ya bruh."

That's all that was said. He hung up in Rae face I was shocked. Like did he just do that for me. My father just checked Rae. Pushing the phone back to me. It rung again.

"Turn off your phone...now "

And I did just that.

"You didn't____."

"Your auntie has kept me updated with everything you do. Alex, I know all about that lil boy that's another reason why I'm here. This with the boy got to stop."

"Dad it's not that easy...I've tried."

"Good...now I'm here to help you. Alex after you graduate I'm taking you with me."

I sat back in my chair looking confused but laughed a lil at him.

"Ok...and where we go stay under the bridge."

"No... just like you things have changed in my life since the last time we met."

My eyes grew big. My mind was blown. We sat there for the longest. He told me he bumped into an old friend a year after seeing me. They went to college together. Lamont had his doctor's degree in business management and marketing.

And basically, a lot of law degrees. But yea his friend new a big-time lawyer and he set him up with and interview with him. He kills the interview and gets the job starting off with $80.77 an hour. With his law firm over the years him and his old friend decided to start their own law firm investing their own money and with some loans now they have two firms one here in Georgia and another one out in Cali. And surprisingly I have seen their commercials a couple times but never saw my dad in it. But the best part is He moving out to California to be over their Cali location. Inside I was screaming for joy because Tabby was moving out there.

"So... with all that I want you to move with me."

I still couldn't speak because this was all too real.

"Alex..."

"I... I ummm...so you rich now."

"Well I won't say rich but I'm well off and I want to make sure you ok and taken care of. And don't worry I already ta_____."

"Yes."

"Huh...yes what?!"

"I'll go...I'll move with you not for you but for my best friend she is moving out there."

His smile stretched cheek to cheek.

"We can work on us. Just you say yes is all I need."

He said. After paying for everything we went back to aunties. Ok now I was starting to feel a lil better. We walked into the house and everybody looked at us crazy.

"Ok who died.?!"

"Yall...yall ok."

Tabby asked.

"Yep...bitch come here I got something to tell you."

I said snatching her and running to the room.

"Bitch you serious!"

"Yes....and I said yes."

"Yass best friend....but wait I wanted you to live with me."

She said pouting.

"Girl shut up.!"

"Ooo bitch...see what you need to do is get that card and them keys, so we can go max it out!"

"Shit hell yea! you own me gift"

"Oh my god Oh yea and bitch he checked Rae ass! Girl that shit was so funny!"

"Girl yes...shit had me turned off my off hold let me check it."

I said turning it back on. I checked and saw that I had like 30 missed calls and some missed texts from him.

Well shit we only had like. A month left probably less than that for graduation. After that I'm gone on the first plane away from his ass. Hearing what Lamont said gave me the courage to deal with Rae bullshit.

"Well best friend...speaking of ex boyfriends you spoke to Tobias."

"Why he occupied."

"Mm... well he called me looking for you."

"Well he good he don't need to hear from me."

I said with an attitude.

"Yea...Mhm but I got to go cause bae wanna see me but bitch call the boy and see what's up."

She said giving me a hug and left. I laid there in the bed thinking of what could he want. So I just gave up and call.

"Hello..."

Damn he sounded so damn good answering the phone.
