Chapter 7:
I woke up with a killer head ache. I had planned on getting up and grabbing a quick pain-killer tablet from my stepdad Dave but I didn't know where I was a my eyes fluttered open.
My vision cleared upon a pasty white unfamiliar ceiling and my head bolted to my left. I was secured on a hospital like cot and the room was painted a familiar baby blue.
A blue I had dreamed about before.
I set my feet on the cool hardwood floor and scanned the room. There was a cherry colored desk that stood in front of a window and I went to it, noticing my clothes sat on top of it.
I picked up A long sleeved navy and white striped V-neck and a pair of Hollister blue jean mini shorts. My Vans sat in front of the bed I was just in and I quickly changed leaving my old clothes on the bed.
I laced up my shoes and quickly was out the door, suspicious as to where I was.
The dark sky was illuminated by millions of multicolored stars. I stood on a wooden porch mesmerized by the twinkling lights before I could even comprehend that someone was standing behind me.
I spun around quickly almost falling from the dizziness combined with the aching in my skull but they caught me.
"Elijah!" I said staring into his metallic blue eyes.
"Jade are you alright?" He asked worriedly.
"Yeah," I said getting up from his arms and collecting my balance, "can you tell me where I am?"
"Of course," he said.
"Where?" I asked.
"Safe," he said disappearing.
"What the..." my sentence trailed off with his disappearance.
I quickly ran off the porch and noticed I was in the woods. "Where.." I trailed off as my eyes began to droop.
No, no! I thought racing over the pine needles. I had to make it to where the smoke was rising. They're probably having a bonfire! I thought.
My head began to spin violently as the aching pain became relentless in my skull.
It wasn't like I wanted to fall. I didn't truly want to be put back into a faded slumber.
"Who did she tell?!" I heard an angry voice yanking me out of my dreamless sleep.
"No one! She never told anyone! I promise you Jay," a voice I recognized.
"You can't know that for sure. She was bleeding! Who knows even if she is a true Nightmare," the alleged Jay spoke.
I wanted to get up and yell at him put a pain on the back of my neck forbid me to.
"But I do know now that! She is one. She's probably already healed!" Gage, the familiar voice, spoke defending my case.
"You can't just-"
"I'm fine actually," I said rising out of the small bed.
Both of their heads shot to me and I shot them a smile that didn't reveal my teeth at all. The man called Jay looked middle ages and had smooth blond hair that he flattened to curve on top of his head.
He walked out of the baby blue room, slamming the door behind him. "Are you alright?" Gage said rushing to my side.
"Of course!" I said racing a hand along the back of my hairline on my neck that ached like flames.
