Chapter 2: Let it out

Chapter 2:

By the time the bell rang we had all become restless and jumped when it rang and ran out the door leisurely.

Gage led the way out the glass double doors and onto the football field on the school grounds.

I hadn't answered their question yet and I wasn't planning on it. I was confused, not that I wasn't then but I always am.

It always seems like a game of hide so they don't seek the truth. We had confidence in each other and I guess that was all we needed.

We made our way off of the field and past the bushes and into the long path in the woods.

"Jade," Lacey started but gave up and her arm fell to her side.

I ran ahead of the group not knowing where to go but just walking a bit ahead of everyone. I didn't want to leave. There was so much in life I had to fulfil.

Scratch that out, I couldn't fulfil half of my dreams because of what happened. And now I couldn't. My life had been shattered

in my hands.

I reached a part of the woods with longer grass and I sat down and buried my face in my sweat shirt and cried, I couldn't do this anymore.

I wanted to leave, run away from life and death and love and passion and all the rest. I felt warm hugs and I looked up teary eyed to see the gang all hugging me.

I smiled at them all and they smiled back. We got up and I apologized and told them we should leave but I didn't know when.

When would you want to leave the place you loved dearly and cherished and you had grown up there?

We remained walking until we reached the end of the forrest that was outside my house. We ran through the brush there and glided through my back door unnaturally quick.

We ran to the kitchen right when we heard my mom come down the stairs. "Jade?"

"Yeah, mom, I'm here with my friends."

We went upstairs to my room when she left to go somewhere and locked the door behind us in my room.

"So when do we leave?" I asked Gage curiously. "Halloween night."

That was only in less than a month! It was already the 9th. I thought he would say the end of the school year or New Years at the closest. I was shocked.

I wanted to drop what I was doing and scream. The others looked around at the floor and Gage had his jaw set seriously like always.

I knew we couldn't tell anyone our secret but to just leave. That would lead suspicions to conclusions. And where the hell are we going?
