Wendy's POV
When I arrived at the cafe, Edwin wasn't there yet. So I ordered a cup of hot chocolate as I waited for him.
"Hey..." a voice from behind said. I turned around, only to face Edwin.
"Oh, you're here." I said as he came to sit in front of me.
"We've got two hours, so you can ask as many questions as you want." I smiled and stirred my hot chocolate.
"Okay... Why didn't you tell me?"
"I... I wanted to... Remember the time when we texted each other about why my mum suddenly hugged you? I wanted to tell you but decided not to... I guess it wasn't time yet..."
"How long have you known?"
"The night after I visited your parents for the first time."
"That was like... so long ago..."
"To be honest... after my accident, I actually lost all my memories before I was five. I went for three consecutive years of treatment but still couldn't remember a thing. But..."
"But?"
"But recently, I started to regain bits and pieces of it. I regain a total of three. My accident, how I got hit and why I got hit. The last time we played together when we were five, just from the part where I was sitting at the bench in your garden till I went to the market and..."
"And?"
I didn't really want to say the last one, the memory that we pretended to get married.
"and when we pretended to get married." I said quickly before I used my hands to cover my face. Soon, I could hear Edwin chuckling.
"That was the most ridiculous time of all; I wouldn't be surprised if you remembered that."
I then uncovered my face and drank my hot chocolate.
"As to how I found out, it was by the clues your mum gave me. The vision she showed me and the talk about your childhood friend, Wendy. With those, I actually went to my mum and asked her about it. She told me everything, like how I went over to your place every day to play and the reason we moved."
"Why did you move?"
"When my mum found out that I lost my memories, she didn't want me finding out what you guys were." I looked up at him and he nodded, signalling that he understood.
"She was scared that I would freak out, like any other humans do..."
"Yeah, that was reasonable..." he said and took out the musical box from his pocket, before placing it on the table. He then turned the key and the peaceful music from it started playing.
"So... Are you planning to tell my mum?"
"Yeah, of course. Maybe tomorrow? After school-" a sharp pain suddenly pierced through my head and all I could hear was the music from the musical box. At each passing second, the music got louder and louder. I cupped my head in my hands.
"Hey... Wendy, are you okay? Wendy?" Edwin asked, but his voice was faint and sounded really far away. His voice was covered by the music playing from the musical box.
A scene of the young Edwin giving me a musical box while we were talking to each other, I couldn't physically hear what we were saying but somehow, I already got all the words into my mind. Suddenly, countless of scenes went into my head and the pain in my head got worse at each passing scene. At that moment, I knew what was happening; I was regaining all of my memories ever since from the day I was born to the day of my accident. All the memories came rushing back to me all at once.
