Key still obsesses over her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Key hears her voice and looks up from his book. He feels like he's been stabbed in the heart, which is how he feels whenever he sees her. It's worse since she's started dating Taemin, his own bandmate and friend.

It's been two years since he and Aimee broke up, and Key still can't let go. Every time he sees her, every time Taemin brings her into the dorm, holding her hand and laughing with her, Key feels like he's dying inside.

He wants to call out to Aimee. He wants to tell her that he still loves her as much as he did the day that they met. But if he did, his heart would just break even more. She doesn't love him back anymore.

Key feels his knees crumple from under him, he feels himself fall to the ground. But it doesn't matter anymore. The only thing that matters to him right now is Aimee, who's holding hands and walking with Taemin, right across the street.

Taemin turns his head and looks right at Key. He sees Taemin's lips move and then Aimee's here. She's here. With Taemin. Right in front of him. Key feels dizzy.

"Key, are you okay?" Taemin asks worriedly. Key can feel the tears welling up in his eyes.

"Yeah," he says. His voice sounds broken and sad, even to him.

"Here," Aimee says gently. She holds out her hand. Key can smell her light perfume wafting up from her wrist, the same perfume that she wore whenever they went somewhere nice.

Key grabs her hand like it's a lifeline, dazed.

"Key?" Aimee asks, her voice a mix of confusion and worry.

"I'm fine," he chokes out, standing up without her help. But he keeps a grasp on her hand.

"Key," Taemin says, gently prying his hand off of his girlfriend's.

Suddenly, he feels Aimee's arms around him, giving him an awkward, short hug. "See you around, Key," she says quietly, before taking Taemin's hand and walking away with him. Neither of them look back.

Aimee's perfume lingers and Key finds himself wishing that they still loved each other, when he'd be the only one able to smell that airy perfume of hers. He finds himself wishing that it was him, not Taemin, who's walking away with her, holding her hand and smiling at her.

Key sees the wet stains on the cement and realizes that he's crying. His hands fly up to his cheeks, and, yes, there are tears sliding down his face. Key quickly wipes them off before anyone else notices, not caring that there are more tears replacing the ones that he's wiped away and that it's a futile attempt.
