Chapter - 24 (Back to be doomed) Part-1

In Spectra.... 

King Matthew sat on his throne like chair and was in deep discussion with Jake and Ashton when Luke walked in the huge main hall right after the main entrance of the Devlin’s castle. 

Matthew saw him first and called loudly "Luke my son... What a pleasant surprise" 

"Good to see you father" Luke said bending on one knee in respect for his king. 

"Oh come here and give a hug to your old man. I have missed you son..." Matthew said calling and hugging Luke. 

"I have missed you too" Luke said hugging him back.  

"I see my son is all grown up. Smart and Handsome just like me" 

"No one could ever be like you father. You are the great king" 

"Nah.... I am old now, Spectra needs a new king. We were discussing that only" 

"What's there to discuss, I am sure Jake would be a wonderful king." 

"No... He..." Matthew started to say something but Jake gracefully stopped him by saying "Sorry to disturb you father but don't you think Luke should get some rest as he is coming from so far and must be tired?" 

"Yes yes of course. Take rest son, we will talk later" Matthew said and dismissed the meeting. 

Luke silently thanks his brother for saving him from boring discussion as his father stepped down from his high chair and vacated the hall. 

Jake and Ashton hugged and wished him after his father disappeared in the hallways. 

"Come let’s have drink" Jake said and three of them walked towards the sitting room.

Luke updated them on the situation and the reason why he was here as they sat sipping some amber liquid from beautiful glasses.

"So now where is that boy?" Jake asked finally.

"I told the guards to take him to the healing room" Luke replied. 

"Good. And Ivy?" 

"I had to leave her home only" 

"What??? You left her alone..." Ashton asked loudly before trailing of as Jake gave him a hard look. 

"She is not alone. Hamish is there with her" Luke replied carefully watching them exchange looks. 

"Who is Hamish?" Jake asked looking at him now. 

"Ashton knows him. He can take care of Ivy while I am here. He is one of us" Luke said. 

"Not exactly one of us... He is a turned vampire" Ashton chimed in. 

"That was hundred centuries ago. Now he is powerful then many of the born vampires" 

"Oh... And you think she is safe with him?" Jake asked. 

"Absolutely. I believe him and he is become friends with Ivy too." 

"I see... Come on then you go take some rest before dinner time while we have some business to take care of" Jake said and stood up signalling Ashton to follow before walking away. 

Ashton also got up and before following Jake he whispered to Luke "Meet me at Andy's after dinner" 

And before Luke could ask why he went hurriedly after Jake.
