Chapter - 11 (True Past)

Ivy was asleep on Luke's lap and he was holding her there. He was too aware of her heart beating close to his and the pulse under pale skin of her neck. He licked his dry lips. That reminded him that he hasn't feed last night.

The sun was about to rise so he can't go to the hospital too. He picked Ivy and carried her to her bedroom. After laying her on her bed and tucking her in blanket he left her room.

As he entered his room he saw his elder brother Jack, sitting on his bed. "Now… what?” Luke asked tiredly.

Jack got up and gave Luke a bear hug "Father sent me to take you back home little brother" he spoke punching Luke on shoulder in friendly fashion.

"I can't come... Not now" Luke grumbled.

"See Luke, you wanted some time alone and the family respected your decision, but it’s been too long. You don't even come to visit us"

"I came few months back"

"Few months??? That was 3 years back, A Family deserve better..." Jack said in high tone coming close to Luke.

"I know and I am sorry. I promise I’ll visit frequently now" Luke replied, turning away from his elder brother.

 "So... How long you are going to stay like this?" Jack asked finally giving up, He knew Luke is too stubborn.

"I don't know... I need more time" Luke replied.

"Time! We gave you 45 years but..."

"I said I need more time" Luke shouted before Jack could complete.

"Fine..." Jack said throwing his hand up in the defensive manner before adding "but be careful... Sally is back and searching for you"

"I've heard about it. Ashton and Nash came this morning, before Sally showed up here" Luke told him

"She came here… How did she found you?" Jack asked astonishingly.

"Yeah... Guess I need to thank Ashton and Nash for that"

"Hmm... What she wanted?"

"Forgiveness... Don't know why she was all love & hearts over me. I think she is bored with her rich wizard now" Luke said smiling bitterly.

"He died 4 year back" Jack informed.

"That explains" Luke said thoughtfully.

“So... Do you forgive her?" Jack asked hopefully.

"After what she did? Never”

 "But you loved her so much” Jack tried to reasoned with him.

"I was a fool then... I didn't know the true her" Luke said mincing every word.

"hmm... So now you love that human girl?" Jack asked eyeing Luke carefully, his head shot up and he looked straight in his eyes, "I heard you and that human girl talking" he said.

"So...?"

"Don’t you see...?" Jack tried to reason with Luke "she is poisonous Luke, and you are a vampire... You both cannot be together. It’s just impossible. More than that she can be dangerous for you"

"Well I have news for you then, I am not scared" Luke said stubbornly.

"You should be"

"It’s not as if I can die" Luke challenged him.

Jack couldn't answer for a while then gave up and smiled and asked "Hmm... But we don't know for sure... This is the first time we found a poisonous girl" Jack said thoughtfully.
