Victory and defeat

Milestones

I woke up again a few hours later. It was 5:50 and I was feeling terrible. This was much worse than when I was pregnant with Hope.

"Nick?"
"Yes my love?" He said softly
"Can you help me?
"Of course" he said sweetly

I started to sob when the sickness just never ended. I was only happy when Nick began to soothe me.

"Are you sure you still love me?"

"I love you, Hope and our little unborn baby more than you could ever know"

My only response was to hurl into the toilet yet again. Nice continued to run circles on my back before saying

"Ok you and I are staying home today"
"No it's okay we'll go. We have to fight crime!"

After a lot of negotiating we finally agreed on Nick going to work and I stay home while hope went to day care

"Guys I have an announcement" Nick said walking into the precinct

Liv tried to act like she didn't already know what he was going to say

"Amanda will not be coming into work today. She is home sick and the reason is because we are expecting a child!"

Today I was actually glad to stay home and hope was out of the house. It gave me time to think about a very confusing matter.

"What if I was carrying more than one kid?"

Even though I've been pregnant before and recently.... I shouldn't be showing this much especially only being one month along.

I was then brought out of my thoughts when someone knocked at the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's Lucy and I have Hope"

I got up and answered the door

"Hey why isn't Hope in day care?"

"They said she was losing it and screaming for you"

"Ohh. I'm right here princess"

She giggled and then spoke.

"Ma-ma"

I gasped in surprise.

"She just said her first word" I said to Lucy

I thanked Lucy and then paid her before putting hope in my arms.

"Alright little one, looks like you and I are gonna have a mommy hope day today"

I carried her inside and and sat her on the couch beside me . I then picked up my phone and dialed a number that I haven't dialed in a while

"St. Ambrose hospital New York, this is Dr.King"

"Charlotte! It's Amanda Rollins Nypd!"

"Amanda, it's nice to hear from you. What can I do for you today?"

"I was wondering if Addison was available?"

"She is, hold on and let me put her on the line"

I smiled at Hope who was intently watching an episode of Elmo
