Victory and defeat

She Has What?

Amanda and Nick sighed. They then walked towards the group of doctors. "I feel like we are just going to the hospital every week now" Amanda thought aloud.

Nick placed his hand to the small of Amanda's back and kissed his daughter. "Don't worry baby girl, we are gonna get you all better" he cooed

"Alright what's wrong" Bailey asked

"I honestly don't know.   She's been like this the majority of the day. She's weak, she was vomiting and she has a pretty high fever" Amanda breathed out. She then rubbed circles on her middle in an attempt to quell the babies. They sensed her nervousness and kicked like the sky was falling.

Then only to make things worse,Hope started to wail. Meredith quickly came up and felt the baby's forehead. "Bailey she's really hot now"

"Alright we will take her now." Bailey said. Meredith picked Hope up from Nicks arms and cooed to her. "It's okay Baby Princess, I'm gonna give you to Aunt Addie and we are going to make you all better." She kissed her and handed her to Addison.

"Okay Amanda and Nick come with me and let's check on the twins. "

Nick placed a hand to the small of Amanda's back because he knew it would help to offset the baby weight. Then the couple grabbed hands and squeezed once. That was all they needed. A sign that they would get through this together.

Trauma room 2- 8:45 pm

"Alright she has a rash on her belly and on her arms, she's also starting to develop one on her cheeks." Meredith said

"Let's get her up to CT and get an ultrasound, let's move people!" Derek shouted

OB room 4- 9:00 pm

Amanda and Nick had just gotten settled and it was time for the ultrasound. "Alright both girls look good and healthy!" Meredith said. Amanda breathed a sigh of relief only because she knew they three of her four children were okay. Meanwhile the doctors weren't having much luck seeing what was wrong with Hope. She was screaming at the top of her lungs in pain. "Alright let's sedate her. Less screaming the better". The nurses nodded and sedated the baby.

Over in the next room, Amanda was having a mental breakdown. She placed her head in her hands and started to cry silently. Nick noticed the tears on her cheeks and got down in front of her. "Mi amor, look at me" he said gently. She sniffed and looked at him. "She will get better. I promise you. Hope is a fighter, just like her mama. With the support of her family she will get through this. "Amanda, Nick?" Addison called

They both stood up and Amanda wiped her tears. "We've diagnosed Hope. Hope has something called Kawasaki disease.  It was caused by the heart problem before she was born. But she will be okay. We just need to start her on an I.V immediately. Amanda nodded. Her legs then gave out and she fell into Nicks arms. "Thank you" she said as Addison went back to Hope.
