Chapter 08: School

First day of school...

Irene had changed schools after they moved and Sophia was going to attent her first year at University... and the worst of it all was that for the first time of the 3 years that they were best friends they wouldn't go to the same school.
Sophia, as always, had been panicking for a week while Irene, on the other hand, was happy that it was her last year of high school.
They left the house together. Sophia drove Irene to her school and then she headed to her campus. When she finished with her classes she went back to get Irene from school. She was waiting at the school's parking lot for not too long. When the school bell rang, Irene was the first one to go out of the school's exit. When she saw Sophia's car she run towards it and opened the door to get in.

"I don't want to go back to that school." she said closing the door, and threw her bagpack on the back seats.

"Hey... What happened?" Sophia said and went to hug her friend.

"Don't touch me." Irene said and she moved away from Sophia's arms.

"Oh okay... I'm sorry.... Are you going to tell me what happened or you just don't want to talk about it?" Sophia said and turned the keys to get the car started.
Irene just turned her head and looked out of the car's window without answering.
"Okay... You don't want to talk about it... Do you wanna go for an ice cream?" Sophia said after a while.
Irene stayed silent.
"Okay I'll only get me some, if you don't want any." Sophia said then.

"Don't even think about not getting me ice cream!" Irene said.

"Nice! You spoke!" Sophia said smiling. "Let's go get a big one from the grocery store because I have to get some other things as well and I work in the afternoon so I won't be able to get them then, is that okay?" Sophia said.

"Can we get two big ones? Because I'm going to eat the one on my own and share the second one with you." Irene said then.

"I'm not sharing mine with you!" Sophia said and parked her car outside of the grocery store. The both of them got out of the car and went into the store, bought everything they needed and then got back home.

"I'm taking the bag with the ice cream and you'll take the rest!" Irene said, just when she got out of the car. She took her bagpack and the ice cream and run to the house. Sophia carried everything else after she closed the car, and got into the house as well. After she left the groceries on the kitchen counter she took two spoons and the two ice creams and went to the living room where Irene was sitting on the sofa.

"I want to watch 'The fault in our stars' again..." Irene said. (Yep... I was obsessed with that movie... don't blame me...)

"Yes ma'am!" Sophia said and left the ice cream on the living room's table and then went to the TV to put the movie in the DVD player. When she went back on the sofa, Irene had already started eating her ice cream. Sophia took hers from the table and started eating as well.

"Are you going to tell me what happened or not?" Sophia asked.

"Ugh... Okay." Irene said. "So... There are those stupid girls in my class and they think that they are the most popular girls in the whole world and from what it seems I'm not good enough to be in the same school as them and, long story short, we got in a fight, 'cause you know me..., and they had become so annoying so I kicked their 'leader' and yeah... I got detention and they'll call my mum for some kind of warning and I just hate everybody in there and I don't want to go back..." she said and ate some ice cream.

"If I ever come near them I'm going to kill them." Sophia said defending her friend.

"Yeah, right. Be careful when you're killing them because you might fall and you won't make an entrance." Irene said. "Oh! I forgot to tell you the best part!" she continued. "The girl I hit was wearing a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt." she laughed.
