Liz's P.O.V
I walked into my house overwhelmed with relief. I was so glad to be home after today’s events. I plopped down on my bed and laid there easing my nerves. After the incident with Josh I was the talk of the school. I can't believe I snapped like that. I could have blown my cover. I was so disappointed in myself. This is not how I was trained. I really need to be more careful so I don’t blow the whole thing.
I let out a huge sigh and rolled over to my stomach. Later that day I finally figured out why everyone was so sad. I guess a kid from the senior class had a drug overdose, it was the same kid I saw exchanging 'handshakes' with Josh. It might be connected but I have no way of proving it. For all everyone else saw was them just greeting each other, I must just be getting paranoid.
'Not everyone is a criminal.' I laughed at myself. My phone went off and I noticed a text message from Derek.
'Hey I'm coming around 5pm to pick you up. Dress casual for me ;)'
My lips curled into a smile, I almost forgot about our date tonight.
'Ok I'll be ready. Can't wait :)' I replied back. I really couldn't wait. I actually missed him a lot. I glanced at my clock and saw it was only three forty-five, so I had plenty of time to get ready.
My phone went off again and I saw a message from Stacey.
'Hey Daddy just otld me he is leaving Friday and won't be back 'till Monday. I was thinking of inviting some of our friends to go to the lake house this weekend. What do you think?'
'Actually that sounds amazing. I've been wanting to get out of town for a while. Who all are you thinking of inviting?' I replied.
'Mary, Peter, you, Derek, and Jamie. Nothing too big just the usual. I haven't been out there in forever and Daddy said it was ok.'
'Ok yeah that sounds like a great time.' And it honestly did. I felt like I was getting some serious cabin fever.
'Ok great! I'll talk to you more tomorrow. I know you and lover boy have a date tonight so be sure to dress sexy and tell me all the dirty details tomorrow! Laters girl!'
I smiled and locked my phone. I was actually really excited for this weekend. Sucks that Harvey wouldn't be able to come. He sure knows how to keep a night interesting.
I got up and walked over to my closet and tried to find something to wear. I grabbed a low cut shirt that was loose around the top and tight around the bottom, a light blue lacy undershirt, and my favorite pair of light blue capris. I laid them on my bed and went to the bathroom to do my hair. I turned on my curling iron and put some loose curls in my hair. I added some fresh mascara and eyeliner to my eyes and pulled the top half of my hair into a clip so my bangs wouldn't be in my eyes so much. As soon as I finished I put on my clothes and a pair of light blue Converse. I glanced back at the clock and saw I still had thirty minutes before Derek came, so I grabbed my bag and went downstairs to the kitchen to get something to drink.
As soon as I got to the bottom my phone started ringing and an unknown number popped up on my screen. I frowned slightly, everyone I needed to talk to was programed into my phone so I had no idea who it could be. I quickly answered before it went to voice mail.
"Hello?" I asked.
"I know where you live." A very deep and unfamiliar voice stated.
"Who is this?" I hissed.
"I'm at your doorstep."
I quickly ended the call and grabbed my gun from my bag and tucked it into the back of my pants.
