Liz's P.O.V
I watched the trees blur by the window as we drove. I was in the back seat of my Jeep while Stacey drove and Mary was in the passenger seat. It was about ten in the morning and we still had four hours to go. I really didn't feel like driving. I had too much on my mind to even focus on the road. The past few days have been an emotional roller coaster for me.
First Harvey gets shot and I'm scared out of my mind that he wouldn't make it through the night. He mostly slept through me doctoring him up. He only woke up a few times to pee and regretfully I had to help walk him to and from the bathroom in fear that he would fall over from being doped up and hit his head.
'Liz quit looking!' He groggily yelled at me on his second trip to the bathroom. 'I know it's huge but no need to perv on me.' He joked. I just sighed and rolled my eyes.
I was just happy that the bullet didn't hit anything important. After day two of waiting on him hand and foot I was very ready for this weekend away. He was literally driving me crazy with his constant pranks and ramblings. Oh and he was not happy at all when I told him I was leaving for the weekend.
“No, Liz no! You can't go!” He whined.
“Harv quit being such a baby. I'm only going to be gone 'till Sunday night.
“That's forever Liz! I'm going to starve!”
“Seriously? There is plenty of food in the fridge and if all else fails, order some freaking pizza or something!” I said starting to get frustrated. This twenty three year old man is worried he is going to starve. He just looked at me with sad puppy dog eyes. I couldn't help but smile.
“Stop it! It's not going to work I have to go. You know if I could bring you I would.” I said.
“I know, I know.” He pulled me into a hug, “Just be careful of all the bears and hormonal teenagers.”
I laughed. “Yeah it can be scary. You be careful too, don't get shot again.”
“I'll do my best not too but it has been so fun!” He laughed. “I loved being waited on hand and foot by you.” I rolled my eyes at him and headed to the door. Before I left he slapped my butt.
“Next time you’re going to wear a French maid outfit for me.” He chuckled. I gave him my best glare.
“I swear you’re lucky you still have stitches or I would punch your face.” I growled and walked out my door. I'll be so glad to get away for a few days.
“Bye Liz love you too!” He called after me.
Even with all of his pranks and smart ass attitude I was really glad to have him around. One thing he said I couldn't get my mind off of though...
'She is my one and only. I can't love anyone more than I love her. I'll come back for her.' Harvey had mumbled while he was in and out of consciousness. Well I know he was just repeating something Mark told him. When I asked Harvey about it he didn't even remember telling me that and he wouldn't tell me anything more.
"It's not my place to say anything Liz. If Mark wants you to know how he feels he will tell you." Harvey said in a stern voice. "Until then quit being a pest and make me a sandwich woman!" He added playfully.
Still those words left me with a thousand questions. If he told Harvey that he was going to come back for me then why hasn't he yet? It's been almost three months since Harvey came back to the U.S.A so where the hell was Mark. He probably was just telling Harvey that while they were drunk. He has probably found another girl and is having the time of his life in Russia. He is never going to come back for me. That thought made my heart ache in rejection. Ever since he left he has left my heart in pieces, pieces I felt that would never heal. Yeah Derek keeps my mind off Mark but I find myself comparing them more and more every day. I miss Mark so much it hurts and I feel like I will never see him again. I was drug out of my thoughts as I noticed the Jeep was pulling into a gas station.
