Why We Fell in Love

Chapter One

"Abs, I am dying to see your outfit!" Meghan shrieks over the phone. I am currently brushing my hair until it creates a beach wave that I like. My friends like to think I'm the most popular girl in school so I have to set a good example but I don't think I'm that at all. 

"It's nothing special Meg, it's just a skirt and a shirt," I reply, rolling my eyes as I apply mascara. I look at myself in the mirror one last time. It is 70 degrees today and that's warmer than usual. I was wearing a black skirt, a white top, and a denim jacket over it. And my gladiator sandals I picked up from the mall a couple days back.

"Are you still picking me up?" she asks.

I grab my side bag and some backs into my hand, putting the phone between my ear and shoulder as I head downstairs, "yeah, I'll be there in ten. See you."

"Bye!" I hear before I end the call. "Morning dad."

He smiles," morning Abs, breakfast?"

"I'm in a rush but thanks for the offer," I say, rushing out the door. A second later, I realize I forgot something. I groan before making my way back inside and my dad's already holding my keys. I smile before taking them and kissing him on the cheek. "Love you."

"Love you too kiddo, have fun today."

I open the door to my car and drop everything in the back seat. I wave to my dad before driving off to Meghan's house. I would pick Lily up but her stupid boyfriend is. And when I say stupid, he is stupid. He's hit on Meg and I before but Lily doesn't mind because he was only 'joking around'. Meg and I don't say anything though because Lily hasn't had the best life.

When I pull outside the oh so familiar house, I honk my car and Meghan instantly runs outside in a cute little sundress. Her cuteness makes me laugh," oh my god, I miss seeing your little buggy."

I have a white Volkswagen beetle and it's the car that makes all the kids punch someone and go "punch buggy, no punch backs". But I love this car with all my heart because it's cute," Meghan, I hung out with you the whole summer."

She shrugs," but this car will be here every single morning and it's making me emotional."

I pat her head as we start driving to school. One Direction comes on and I fall in love all over again. I'm not a fan of them but the songs like 'Infinity' and 'Long Way Down' get to me. It's their slow songs that makes me like them.

"Did you remember your tennis bag?" she asks. 

"I think it's in the back," I say, shrugging. If I was little and asked to play tennis, I would laugh and say heck no. But now, it's taken over my life. I'm first singles for the varsity team and Meghan is second. And Lily refuses to play tennis because she doesn't want bulky arms but I think we look fine.

I see the building in front of me as I take a deep breath. It'll be my last year seeing 'Lakeside High School'. I still never understood why it's called Lakeside because there's definitely no lakes here. I park my beetle as I grab everything from the back.

"You excited?" Meg asks, carrying a leather messenger bag and her tennis bag.

I shrug as Meg gasps," chill, I'm totally excited."

A couple of cars down from us, a matte black Audi R8 pulls up and Meg and I's jaw drops to the floor. A tall guy walks out and everyone just stares at him. 

"Who the hell is this holy hotness?" Meghan asks, pretending to be speechless.

"How the hell did he pay for this car?" I say, drooling over my dream car. Matte makes everything look better and his car is perfection. I look away, hearing the school bell," c'mon Meg."
