My dad ended up fixing my buggy and he made fun of me once again, telling me to buy a new car. I then, as usual, tell him that I'll get a car when I actually have a life so he shrugs it off, like always. My dad and I will never settle on this car but I made a vow to never get rid of it. It's too sentimental to me.
"What are your plans today?" he asks, setting down a cup of coffee on a coaster and turning the TV on. He thinks I have plans? Who does he think I am? Some type of frat girl that goes to parties all the time?
"Nothing really. I want to go to Six Flags sooner or later but I can't seem to find anyone to go with because Meghan gets super carsick," I shrug, sitting down on the couch and eating popcorn. I know that I'm going to end up falling asleep on this couch if I don't do something of some sort. "Maybe I might go to the mall."
"Alone?" he asks, raising an eyebrow. "Abs, you can't-"
"I didn't say I was going alone," I interrupt. "It was just an idea. I might call Meghan and ask if she wants to go. I know she's always up for it. And I can always call Lily as well."
"Alright, I'm just nervous, that's all."
I frown before getting up to hug him from the side," I know dad, thank you so much for caring about me. I appreciate it very much. What's for dinner?"
He laughs," you want take out or a home cooked meal? Because if it's home cooked, I need all hands on deck... So basically I need your help."
I smile, "shall we get started?"
His sad face immediately brightens up and it makes me awe. We both walk into the kitchen to wash our hands," what shall we make papa bear?" I ask, throwing an arm around his shoulders. He's at the same height as me which I'm grateful for because I'm not exactly the tallest.
"How about-"
He was interrupted by a knock on the door. We both look at each other," you start cooking whatever you're thinking about. I'll get the door."
I walk over to the door and open it up, seeing Noah's back. I clear my throat as he turns around. I get startled because there is a... There's a... He basically has a black eye. And it's really dark. He doesn't say anything about it but he hands me an envelope. I take it as he says," open it."
I do as told and in it was a wad of cash," uh, did you rob a bank and give me the money for my hard work? Wrong person."
He rolls his eyes," it's a long story but I was the one that put the dent in your car," he says as my jaw drops. "I didn't do it on purpose. Something- Someone frustrated me so I punched him in the face and he just so happened to fall on your car making the dent... Sorry?"
I take his hand as he flinches. His knuckles were so disgusting that you can actually see the bone," can you please go to a doctor about this? It can get infected."
He stares at me for a while and I get nervous. I feel like he's staring into my soul," I don't need a god damn doctor. All I need is for you to take this damn money so I can get on with my life."
"Excuse me, what did you just say?" my dad asks furiously, walking towards the doorway.
"Dad, please stay out of this," I say to him, trying to push him back. He has a shotgun in the basement and I don't trust him with it right now. "I'll handle this, just keep cooking dinner. I'll be back in."
He rolls his eyes before walking back inside. I push Noah off my 'Welcome' mat so I can walk outside, closing the door behind me. "Can we hang out?"
He smirks and raises an eyebrow," are you asking me out?"
I roll my eyes," no you idiot. I have nothing to do and I want to go to the mall but I can't go alone."
