Why We Fell in Love

Chapter Twenty-Two

"I'll be Mrs Albert Peterson" I sing.

I've been working non-stop ever since I got here in the morning. Putting on a play is not easy... At all. My hair is in a ponytail and its a messy one with all the costume changes and dancing around.

"Oh Albert," I say as Tommy gets down on one knee and putting the ring on my finger. I can't believe he's playing my love interest. This is going to be terrible.

"Oh Rosie," he says, getting up and hugging me.

"And then you two kiss," the director says as I push him off.

"How about we practice the kiss?" Tommy says as I roll my eyes.

"In your dreams freshie," I say, hopping off stage to get a drink of water. Someone comes through the door of the auditorium but I can't shape out who it is. I shrug before turning around but someone's hand covers my eyes.

"Guess who?" Noah says.

"I have a black belt in karate," I say as he takes his hand off me and I turn around.

He laughs," you wish you did."

I roll my eyes.

"I got these for you," he says, giving me a bouquet of flowers. "I picked them from my mom's garden. I planted these a while ago just for you."

"They're beautiful but why?" I ask, taking the flowers.

"Because you've been working your butt off," he says, walking towards me and giving me a long hug. "I will be your number one fan tonight."

"You're my number one fan every night," I laugh, leaning into his chest. Its too cozy not to.

I feel his hand run through my hair," well I'm going to be the loudest person in the crowd cheering for you. You can count on that."

I smile, pulling away," you're so cute," I say.

"Hey you, come down here," Noah yells. Tommy cautiously jumps down from the stage. "Look, I'm sorry for punching you during the game."

"Me too," Tommy says.

"You're lucky I'm letting you kiss my girl tonight," Noah says. "Now go rehearse."

Tommy gets back onstage as I stare at Noah," that was nice of you to apologize," I say.

"I'm a better person," he says.

"I know you are."

He gives me a kiss," I'll be back here at six."

"Sharp," I add in as he smiles, shaking his head. "Love you."

"I love you too," he says, leaving the auditorium.

"You did fantastic for only one day of rehearsal!" Bella yells in my ear. I never knew so many people took plays so seriously. I've never seen so much people watching. "That kiss with Tommy was electrifying. We would love for you to be in our summer play."

I shake my head," I have tennis in the summer."

"Surely it doesn't go on all day," she says.

"I don't know Bells," I say.

She frowns," well at least think about it. We're heading for greater things in the summer. We really think you'll be a good addition to our theatre."

I give her a smile before leaving backstage. I go into the dressing room and change into my normal clothing. Wearing dresses from back then all night makes you miss your normal clothes.
