Jasmine's POV

After school the next day, I sat in Dan's room staring at him dreamily while he tried helping me with what I didn't know.

"Earth to Jasmine," he waved his hand in front of my face. I shook my head, focusing my attention on what he was saying.

"How are you ever supposed to learn if you keep zoning out?" He laughed.

"Sorry, I just can't get my boyfriend out of my head," I shrugged. He couldn't help but smile.

"Listen," he came over and sat on my desk, looking down at me. "How about you and I go out on Friday. Somewhere far enough away were neither of us will be recognized," he suggested.

"I would love that," I smiled up at him.

"On one condition," he added. I groaned, knowing this would happen.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"You start paying attention to the lesson!" He jokingly yelled. It was my turn to laugh.

"Okay, okay. But it's going to be twice as hard now, I won't be able to stop thinking about Friday," I stated.

And I was right. It was harder than ever to stay focused, especially in his class. The rest of the week seemed to drag on. I swear that the clocks weren't working right.

On Friday, I sat down with Pet for lunch before anyone else got there.

"Pet, I need you to do me a really big favor," I said, keeping my voice quiet.

"Sure, what?" She looked at me curiously.

"Well, if I tell my parents that your parents are going out of town, and that I'm staying at your house with you, can you cover for me if they call?" I asked, hoping she'd agree.

"Yeah, sure. Where are you going though?" She questioned.

"I can't tell you right now. But I promise I will tell you everything tomorrow night," I pleaded.

"Okay. Just, tell me..you're not in trouble are you?" She inquired. I quickly shook me head.

"Alright. Well I can't wait to know," she smiled giddily and we both looked up as the others came to join us.

School finally ended and I rushed to my locker to put my stuff away. But when I opened my locker, I noticed a black box with pink ribbon around it. I pulled it out, wondering if I was at the wrong locked. But I saw the tag, and it had my name on it. There's really only one person it could have been from. I shut my locker and ran out to my jeep. Throwing my bag in the passenger seat, I got in and pulled the ribbon off. Taking the lid off, there was a note.

Jasmine,

Put this on for tonight. I will pick you up on the corner at 7. I hope you're ready for a night you won't forget.

I read the note again, and then set it aside smiling. I unfolded the tissue paper and reached inside, pulling out a beautiful royal blue dress. It had rhinestones along the collar, and a thick black belt around the waist. It was gorgeous. I rushed home and told my parents that I was staying at Pet's. I hated lying to them, but I couldn't risk telling them about Dan. I really didn't know how they would react.
