Percy looked over at Annabeth. His eyes filled with sadness and, guilt? He pulled her into a hug and kissed her affectionately. " No matter what happens I love you." he whispered in her ear. Annabeth felt something slide into the front pocket of her Jeans. "After the battle" he said softly before pulling away. Percy quickly straightened up and turned around to face our army. "Greeks! Romans! Today we fight for our future. Not just for us but for our children. We fight for those who have fallen to an unjust blade. We are not separate groups, the romans or the greeks. We fight as a family, Brothers and sisters. Defend your selves and your family!!!!" he shouted before nodding to Octavian. (After they had escaped tartarus they had made peace with the auger and where really good friends). " today it is not for Rome or for Greece. Today we fight for each other. For Family!!!" he finished of screaming. "For Family!!!" The crowd roared raising thier weapons. Percy smiled and slapped Octavian on the back. "glad your on our side man" he said before turning to face Gaea's army. Raising riptide into the air, the other seven plus Nico raised thier weapons. "For Family!" they screamed and charged.

Percy slashed at each monster that got to close. The seven were with him the whole time until they came to an open clearing. No grass grew here just dark rich earth. "Who will dare challenge me" a sweet earthy voice that Percy had heard to much of lately asked. "Fight me Gaea" Percy yelled stepping onto the earth. "Do not run like a coward!" he yelled angrily. He saw a mound forming in the earth. Soon the body of an older teenage girl had formed. Her hair the color of rich soil and her eyes a gentle muddy green. Smiling evily the girl grabbed a sword forming from the earth also. "As you wish Perseus" Gaea said darkly before charging. Percy blocked her attack and launched into a series of stabs swipes and blocks. He was faintly aware of the others moving into position. Pushing harder he forced Gaea to focus on him and only him. Percy smiled sadly when he saw Leo press the button before attacking Gaea with renewed force as the nets expanded around them in about a seventy acre circle. Percy felt himself begin to tire. He waited until the celestial bronze quit expanding before he dropped to his knees. "Now Percy if you would just join me it would be so much easier" Gaea offered "you could rule by my side" " Well neither of us have much of a choice, look around you" Percy said. Gaea looked around. By now the walls where a solid three feet thick. "No no no not possible" Gaea said. Kicking Percy to the ground she ran over to the wall and tried breaking through with her sword. "Its no use" Percy said just loud enough to hear. "Hephastus designed the dome there is no escape from the inside" he said before reaching into his backpack and pulling out a small sack. He set the contents out explaining what they were and what they did.

"The blue cube will produce a freshwater spring while the blue pyramid will produce a saltwater pond." he said. They where gifts from Poseidon to help him survive.

>Flashback<

The day before...

Percy looked around Olympus. "Why have you summoned me this time?" he asked in disdain. "Is there another job you want me to do that involves breaking Annabeths heart and abandoning my friends and family?" he said. Zeus as well as the other gods flinched. "No Percy" Hestia said. Percy's face softened. "I apologize for my behavior Lady Hestia" he said. He respected Hestia more than some others. "It is well Percy, We called bearing gifts" she said. Apollo stepped forward holding a yellow ball. "An artificial sun and I've talked Zeus into adding the occasional thunderstorm" he said. Demeter stepped forward holding a bag of seeds. "They are enchanted to grow for you and produce multiple seeds so you don't starve. There are also some seeds marked so you can grow a forest." Poseidon stepped forward and wrapped me in a hug before taking out a cube and a pyramid, both a deep blue. "The cube will give you a freshwater fountain to drink from and yes it is large enough to split between two people, the pyramid will produce a saltwater pond filled with sea life so your not alone. And this is BlackJack" he said handing me a black pegasus plush toy. "He didn't want to leave you behind" he finished with another hug before he blocked off all emotion. Hermes looked down in shame. "I don't really have anything to offer you I just wanted to thank you for your sacrifice" Artemis stepped forward tossing him a silver ball. "Artificial moon and stars including a copy of Zoe's constellation" she said. Hestia stepped forward holding two large cubes and a smaller cube. "The two large cubes will create houses and the smaller one will form a campfire that will never go out." she said. "Thank you for your sacrifices young warrior" she stepped back and Hephastus stepped forward holding a large silver cube. "This will produce any food or drink you ask for, unlimited uses" he said with a small smile. Ares stepped forward carrying a blood red sphere. "Don't stop training punk" he said before leaving. Athena stepped forward and handed him a notebook. "Anything you write will be transfered to an Identical notebook out here" she explained. Zeus stepped forward holding a backpack filled with pictures and all of Percy's stuff. "Thank you" he said handing the backpack to Percy who put all the stuff inside. Next thing he knew he was back in his room. He layed down to rest for the battle the next day.

<Flashback end>

Percy looked around sadly before tossing the silver ball he had gotten from Artemis into the air. The sky shimmered before a large full moon appeared as well as a large collection of stars. "We are both trapped so we might as well get used to it" Percy said to Gaea. She turned around to face him. "How can you be so calm and okay with this?" She hissed. "I have done my job, I protected my friends and family. You of all beings should know that in doing so I have made myself happy knowing they are safe." Gaea frowned. Even when faced with an eternity with the one he should hate most this boy was just happy that he had saved his friends. How does he do it, she thought. Sometimes she envied the stubborn demigod. Even when hope of winning was lost he still fought. And something told her he would never stop. She thought of all she had lost but one thing struck her. She had succeeded in a minor victory. She had gotten Perseus Jackson. Turning away from the demigod she smiled.
