Annabeth POV

I was a little upset.

Okay, I was a lot upset.

It had been three years since that battle with dirt face. I could still feel the confusion I had felt when he slid that paper into my pocket. I glanced up at the wall over my desk. A sheet of paper was pinned to the wall. The handwriting was horrible almost beyond recognition but that didn't matter. I had every word from that paper memorized.

Hey Annabeth,  if you are reading this that means the gods idea worked. I'm trapped with Gaia and you guys are safe. I wanted to say that I love you. I want you to go into my cabin and look in the bottom left corner of the middle drawer on the left side. You should find a handle to the false bottom. Everything in there belongs to you now. I love you.

~ Percy

He had set the letter up wrong but I didn't care. That drawer had contained my bone sword that I had used in tarturus, a pearl necklace with an owl shaped coral charm, pictures of us together, and a small velvet box. In the box was a silver ring that looked like strings intertwined. On top had sat a smokey diamond with two small aquamarine on either side. I had cried right there for three hours before Thalia came to get me. We then cried together for one hour before we fell asleep in the floor of the Poseidon cabin.

That had been two days after the battle. I still wear that ring. I had been admiring the ring when Jason appeared in camp.

"Get ready for war!" He announced before calling for a counselor meeting. Now we are listening to Jason explain what is wrong.

"-y and Nico. He has been declared a threat by Zeus and we have been ordered to make preparations to meet him in battle. " Jason finished.

"I will make plans" I announced. Jason nodded to me and the meeting was dispersed. I walked back to the Poseidon cabin where I have been staying. I set to work drawing battle plans for us to practice and perfect.

"Percy was right you are a great strategist. I can't find a single flaw." I jumped up, my hand reaching for my dagger which lay on my desk. The voice belonged to a petite woman with pale skin and long rich black hair that, even being braided, rested at her waist.

"Lady Nyx." I greeted grabbing the dagger.

"I'm so sorry but you will come to understand soon." She grabbed both my wrist and pushed me, through the wall? We appeared in a dungeon. Looking around I saw Nico and Erebus standing over a sleeping Percy.

"Nyx you look after the boys while I inform miss Annabeth about the current situation. " Erebus said looking up. I stopped struggling and walked out of the room staring at Percy. He was really here.

"Miss Annabeth, I know you believe me to be the bad guy but I assure you the true darkness you should fear is far greater than I am. We decided that if the gods started to prepare for war a few months early they might have a chance. You, Nico, and mainly Percy will be Tarturus's first and main priority. You beat him once but he also now has influence on your soul. Nyx is going to take you back to camp. Can you continue to prepare your troops for war?" I nodded at his words in shock.

"I want to see Percy before I go back." Erebus smiled at my words and nodded. I ran back into the room where Percy lay sleeping. I stroked his face gently before giving him a hug and a kiss.

"I will see you soon. I love you too." I glanced at Nico but he was looking at the floor. Nyx smiled at me.

"I told you that you'd understand. " she said before gently pushing me through a shadow. I appeared back at my desk in the Poseidon cabin.
