Training

Percy POV

I woke up to find Nico standing in the corner.

"Nico what are you doing here?" I asked him. He looked up at me.

"Oh good your awake, There is a lot to explain." I blinked sleep from my eyes.

"What do y-" I suddenly remembered where I was and what had happened. Sitting up I looked around wildly.

"Nico! Erebus and-"

"Nyx have a lot to explain to you. Trust me Percy, They are not evil I swear it." Nico said as he sat down beside me.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes they have a good reason for what they did. I'm going to go get them now. Wait here." With that he stood up and walked out of the room. I shivered slightly before realizing that I was in my real body. This wasn't a dream-scape. I patted my pocket and was relieved to find riptide. Running a hand over my legs I could feel the knives he had hidden. If something went wrong I could defend Nico. A moment later Nico stepped back into the room followed by Nyx and Erebus. Standing up I grabbed riptide, preparing to take the lid off the small pen. Erebus quickly raised his hands above his head in a peaceful show.

"Please, allow me to explain." he said gently. I nodded and sat back down but riptide stayed in my hand.

"Why did you attack me? And why did you wait until now to do so?" I asked darkly.  (catch the pun?)

"Another evil is coming. One greater that Gaea and Kronos combined. His priority will be you. In order to prepare the gods the primordial in this 'prison' decided to stage a false war so the troops will be ready. Their training would not be sufficient for Nico and yourself. You must be prepared for the worst. You, Percy, must learn to resist possession. You have an open soul which leaves you vulnerable. Nico I want you to become Percy's protecter." I frowned, unsure of what he ment by an open soul but also knowing that he wasn't lying to me either.

"And how are we supposed to train for this?" Nico asked. Erebus' smile darkened and grew.

"Glad you asked." he said.

"We are going to spar, it will be you two verses two volunteers. Percy at moments one will attempt to take over your body, you are to prevent this. Nico. While this is happening the other one will attemp to attack Percy.  You are to defend him." Nyx explained. We both nodded. Our mistake.

I could feel the chill as Seline took control of my left leg.

"Nu-no" I managed to grumble as I could feel her pushing at the edge of my mind.

"Percy! you stay with me!" Nico yelled as he deflected Hydros' blade.

"Imm trying" I slurred. "Get outa my head" I hissed at the former moon titaness.

"If I do that you'll never learn will you?" Her soft voice sounded in my mind. I groaned before dropping my sword and gripping my head as pain shot through it.

"Don't loose your focus Percy! Nico your doing great! " Erebus yelled from the side. We both sent him a glare. Hydros tried to attack me when Nico wasn't looking but all he got for that was a stygion iron sword pointed at his nose.

"Dead" Nico muttered as he picked up Hydros sword. Seline must have been distracted by Hydros' defeat because I actually managed to push her out of my mind. I felt her presence leave as I collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath I hadn't realized I had lost. I had actually beaten her. I had won. I sat up and stared at Erebus.

"I won." I whispered to myself. Erebus smiled widely.

"You both are doing great." he said pulling us both into a hug. "You make a great team." I glanced at Nico before sending a hand up for a high-five. Nico smiled widely before smacking my hand.
