Jason Pov
It had been three years since I had last seen Percy and I had to say, he looked good for a guy who has not seen the outside world in so long. I glanced over at Gaia nervously. She was picking at her nails bored.
"I'm not going to kill you." Both Nico and I jumped when she spoke.
"Where did Percy go?" Nico asked.
"I think he's going to cook lunch." she answered before walking through the same doorway Percy left through. We followed her cautiously, Nico in front of me. As far as I could tell Percy had a cozy little home. I smiled at a picture of all of us on the Argo II after we had left camp Jupiter. Leo and Percy had decided to prank us but the image was taken too soon. We were all standing there while Percy had this creepy smile and there was this large sheet of water over our heads. After a few minutes we came to a sort of large kitchen where Percy was sautè'ing vegetables and some sort of meat.
"Hey guys" he said not turning around.
"What are you making?" Gaia said looking over his shoulder.
"Not sure" Percy shrugged as he pulled the pan off the stove and placed it by the sink to cool. He then opened the oven and grabbed two hot pads before pulling...something out of it. Gaia smiled at the dish while Percy pulled out a mixing bowl and handed it to me smiling. He pointed to a measuring cup and a gallon of milk.
"Nico give Jason two cups of milk" he ordered while pouring sugar into a measuring cup. "Gaia, two eggs. Jason stir them together." I looked for something to stir the mixture with when a spoon got placed in my hand as a bunch of sugar was dumped into the bowl. Percy smiled before adding five drops of blue food coloring and helping me stir. The mixture thickened up and after about five minutes of stirring the mixture formed into a thick icing. I looked up in suprise and saw Percy smiling.
"Hold on I think the cake has cooled" I had no idea what he meant but nodded. He dumped the cake out of its container on to a sheet of foil. He thrn reached into a drawer and pulled out a bunch of butter knives.
"Help me spread the icing" he ordered handing Gaia, Nico, and I a knife. He dipped his knife into the bowl and turned to the cake. Spreading the mixture with ease. When he turned to get more icing he dropped his knife.
"darn it that was my last one." he said giving Gaia a look. " you all keep spreading I'll be right back." with that he left again. I turned to look at Gaia and Nico. The latter shrugged before spreading icing, quickly followed by Gaia and myself. If I had turned around I may have seen Percy cover the vegetables or standing in the door way just watching. We had just finished icing the cake when I felt something hit the back of my neck. It wasn't hard but it was enough to make me jump. Almost knocking the cake off and earning a withering glare from Gaia. I stepped back and looked to see Percy standing there with a handful of strawberries.
"er.. sorry" he said quickly.
"Be more careful demigod. I have been waiting five months for another cake." she chastised. I nodded then turned back to Percy. He was slicing the strawberrys. Some where paper thin slices while some where just strawberry halves.
"Put the slices on the sides like a red fence. Take the halves and put them on top." Gaia smiled at him though he was oblivious. Nico must have caught it to because he glared at Gaia harshly. She just gave him a victory smirk as she placed another strawberry half on top of the cake.
