Nico POV

As soon as my vision cleared I jerked my arm out of his grip. Erebus just sat down and closed his eyes. After a few moments a black fog rose from his mouth and formed a humanoid shape before it expanded. After a minute the real Erebus stood before me. He gently picked Percy up and placed him on the bed that I hadn't noticed.

"I truly do not aim to harm him." he turned to me. "It is good to finally meet you Nico. I've heard much of you. When Percy would sleep we brought him here so he would not become lonely. He spoke highly of you. How you helped him get over Tarturas." I was suprised.

"Did Percy really talk about me?" I said hopefully.

"If it wasn't you it was Annabeth. " I frowned.

"If you don't want him harmed why are you possessing him?" he smiled sadly at my words.

"So he will not fight. The same reason I took you. You where both destined to die in this war. I am not even the true evil. Tarturas, My brother is rising. He will not rise for another five months. If the Olympians wait until then to begin gathering their troups you will all be decimated." I stared at him in wonder.

"so your the good guy." I said calmly.

"Yes, Nyx is retrieving Annabeth as we speak." This confused me.

"Why are you taking Annabeth? " he smiled at me.

"Think about it. You all have something in common. Something the enemy can use."

"Tarturas. We've all been to tarturas." his smile lessened.

"Exactly. He now has a certain level of control over each of you. One more so than the others. Did you know that Percy made an agreement with the pit? He agreed to take on more if it would keep Annabeth safe. He was nearly broken by the pit. If you were launching an attack what would you do?" My eyes widened.

"He is going for Percy first. Then he will come for me and Annabeth. "

"And that is why I brought you here." he confirmed.  Before we could say anything else the wall rippled before Nyx stepped out with a struggling Annabeth.

"Nyx you look after the boys while I inform miss Annabeth about the current situation. " With that he led an angered but silent Annabeth out of the room. Her eyes never left Percy's figure.

"So Erebus informed you?" Nyx said.

"Yes ma'am. Is Percy going to be okay?" she smiled.

"Yes he will be fine. In fact he should wake up soon. Then we will explain to him as well." I nodded and layed down to wait.
