To Phoenix Drop

Lyra's P.O.V.

Just as I was putting in the last smoke bomb Katelyn came back in. "Are you ready to sneak on the ship?" she asked. We told Zane we were grabbing breakfast out in the village. He seemed suspicious but let us go any way. He watched us leave but before we exited he called out to Katelyn. "Tell her what I've been hiding." he smirked then walked back into his office.  I easily found my way into the cargo hatch undetected. Katelyn came in as soon as the ship set sail to check on me. She was almost like the nice older sibling I never got to live with. 

"Why are you going to a place called phoenix drop out of everywhere else?" I was curious. Her eyes began to water but I had never seen her cry before. "Jeffrey is d-d dead. Zane killed him... It was linked back to phoenix drop." She exclaimed in between breaths. I didn't realize it but I was tearing up. I blinked back tears but watched several fall into my lap. I knew Zane was terrible but murder? "What's happening to Abby?.... Where will she live?..." I asked in between sobs. "She is with her grandmother for now we haven't told her yet." Katelyn answered. 

"What did Zane mean when he said you knew he was hiding something?" I wanted to know. "I sneaked into his office the other day to see if I could find something to prove him guilty. Instead I found not exactly your birth certificate but something your parents have been keeping from you. It seems everyone in your family except for you knows. You were taken in or adopted." Katelyn explained.

What a way to find out I thought to myself.She left me to my thoughts and went up to make sure we were on course.

 Katelyn's P.O.V.

We were finally reaching land. It had been a long journey. I went down to check on Lyra. She was packing her things silently. She knew we would be arriving soon.

Lyra's P.O.V.

"We'll be at the docks in five minutes." Katelyn informed me. With that she left. I can't believe no one ever told me I was adopted but I was glad to know. There was nothing I could do about it now. I was over it I don't care I told myself. What if Garroth's here? I asked myself. that can't be possible I know he left so he wouldn't have a forced marriage but... Ugh never mind. I was done pep talking myself. I sneaked out of the cargo hatch and stood on the deck.

Garroth's P.O.V.

As Lady Katelyn and Aphmau went into her house and we were going to take positions outside I saw a girl climb onto the deck of the ship Lady Katelyn arrived on. "Lyra?!" I exclaimed. In shock she ran past me towards the woods. In the process she dropped the sword she was carrying. It landed at my feet. The same sword I bought from a merchant in O'khasis 10 years ago...
